Soda isn't the healthiest drink out there... anyone can agree to that but there are a ton of diet sodas on the grocery shelves and it makes me wonder if its too good to be true. On the labels you see where it says no calories and so many people think its ok to drink a ton of diet soda but there are other things involved. So what is your take on diet soda... are they just tricking people into believing its as good as it is.

I don't know about people being tricked exactly. Afterall they still sell Tab and that was known to cause bladder cancer. Really anything that's processed, you never know what truly is in it. So unless you make it yourself & grow it yourself you have no true idea. Sad isn't it?

Well when I mean tricked is that they can say there is 0% of something when actually there is more than 0%. It all has to be with how much has to be in there for a company to have to say 1% and yeah its not a lot but if someone doesn't think there is anything in it and they consume a lot its going to be a lot more than 1% of your daily intake levels.

Diet sodas have actually been shown to contain ingredients that can cause more damage than good. It's just as bad or worse than a regular soda. That's only because some ingredients may cause cancer or other problems. That's why I've sworn to try and stay away from diet sodas as much as possible.

I have heard that diet soda is extremely bad for diabetics because it does something to the insulin. I can't exactly remember what it was but I read it online a few years ago since my dad was diabetic and always wanted soda so he figured he would start drinking diet soda.

Hi! I don't drink diet sodas as they cause more problems than they help. I would rather have the sugar and calories, than the other problems assocated with drinking diet drinks. I do think they are to good to be true, but even with the problems associated with diet drinks there are problems with alot more food and drink options.

Well I like diet soda. It is fun because it is good if you are dieting and breaking away from big foods that will hurt your weight. I like diet soda because it is fun. It is not too bad for you. It's better than real soda.

The claims on the labels are purely for marketing reasons only. They are trying to market a drink that is suposed to be "healthy" for you and what not without losing taste. What they don't tell you is all the artifical sweeteners they put in the products. Or, what long terms effects those sweetners can have on the human brain, or the human body. Things like this get pushed aside because people just want to make money. So they lie on the labols to claim there are no calleries and such when that's just not possible.
