Ok, I desperately need some opinion on this one. In Europe, the government already phased out Incandescent light bulbs, and CFL lights. They are completely transitioned to LED lights. While in the United States, we might see some products on LED lights in Home Depot, Sam's club, walmart, or Lowe's. Those LED lights might be expensive, more than double than CFL lights. In a long run, they are last longer, brighter, and cut your energy bills a lot. So, with your opinion, especially American citizens, what stopping you to get one of those LED light bulb and test it yourself? What you like about LED or dislike about it? Would you still want to stay with CFL or incandescent lights, why? Because of lack of knowledge or information of LED?

LED really is energy saving and it lights up more than incandescent lights. It consume small amount of power even though its performance is great, what more can you ask for right? :D

So, here is my question again. Are you willing to pay more than double on the current market price for a single LED lights in comparison to Incandescent lights, in a long run, saving your electric bills, and last longer in lifetime?

I have tried the LED lights and they are good in some uses. I have not been able to find any LED lights brighter than 40 watts. when working in an office or trying to read they do not make it. We have also had problems with the new LED traffic lights. It seems that LEDs do not generate enough heat to melt the snow and Ice that covers them after it snows. When we get start new technology we have to go slow to see what the problems will be and then solve them before we have too much invested.

Yes, I am willing to pay more than double here in India. In India many villages don't get electricity just because the urban population is burning all of them up! So, myself as a responsible guy, should save electricity in my city. So I will buy them as long as could afford!

LED lights have a lot more advantages over the CFL lights. The top most reason would be the safety. CFL lights use the mercury which is a neurotoxicant. If CFL lights break in your home, it can be a dangerous for your health. Even though the CFL lights have only a small amount of mercury, it can be dangerous for your health. Another demerit of these CFL lights is that it is not dimmable like the LED lights. LED lights is safer to use even if it breaks, you can take it in your hand and throw it away. Also it can save a considerable amount of energy than the other bulbs. Check out this online calculator to know how much money you can save through the use of LED lights.

Actually now more and more countries and regions are having a lot of products utilizing LED. The reason for this is to save on energy consumption and for a greener Earth. I guess one of the reason behind people not using LED light is the relatively lower brightness it creates. The second would be they are used to the incandescent light and CFL light. I am quite fine with the use of LED lights.
