Hi friends, how many types of horses are there? Which is the largest and which is the smallest? Which type of horse do we use for riding?

As someone else said there are easily 200+ breeds of horses. Not to mention a ton of various colors that tie into the breeds.
Smallest breed is going to be various forms of minis. Or miniature horses. The largest breeds are going to be various draft horses.
The sizes really go from mini, to pony, to standard sized horses, to draft horses.
I don't know different mini breeds, but a couple pony breeds are Shetland and Welsh. A few standard sized horse breeds are quarter horses, appaloosas, arabians, thoroughbreds, mustangs, and paints. And finally, a few breeds at the draft horse size are Clydesdales, Shires, Fresians, Perchrons.
Pardon all the spelling errors. :)

i don't know how many breeds of horses there are, i think we can use minature horses. for little kids to ride, their a lot finer than a sheltland and of course smaller. don't know much about which breed is the biggest. i'd go warmblood for the bigest type we actually ride, just depends on what size the horse is when it finishes growing.

I think there are over 200 breeds of horses and ponies in the world. I'm not sure of the exact number. I don't know what the largest would be, but the smallest would probably be a Sheltland pony.

I don't know how many different breeds of horse there are. The largest would be draft horses, like Belgians. The smallest would be the ponies, Shetland and others. Many breeds are used for riding. Thoroughbreds of course, but they are also used for racing. Arabians, American quarterhorse, Morgans, Appaloosas, Tennessee Walking horses are some of the other breeds that I can think of at the moment.
