Hello paperroses,Since i was a child,my family used to celebrate new years eve,as a big event in our life. Now that i have my own family,we also used to clebrate it, for God's great blessings given to us this year and the up coming years of our life and his guidance. Hoping for more blessings to come next year and to survive whatever happens to our life. Happy new year in advance ha ha ha!Good Day!

Like you have simply and rightly put it, we celebrate new year's eve because we are thankful to God for adding another year to our lives. I think we also celebrate because it happens to be the last of a particular year. Happy celebration... cheers.

New Year's Eve is a time to bid farewell to worries of the past year and welcome the many preferably auspicious events of the future, while the observance of New Year's Day marks the beginning of the year,

That's a very good reason to celebrate. Another year of life and friendship and loved ones... As someone else said, trying to leave any worries of the previous year behind and start fresh to enjoy another year of life.
