Today I learned how to smile for the first time. Yay!

I haven't been able to smile 'til today, I couldn't frown or look confused, in fact I was totally expressionless. With the help of another mylot member and sheer determination I finally learned how to make these expressions, I can now smile What have you achieved today that made you happy?

it was a nightmare! I was down to 2 rolls of partially used paper and got a windfall from freecycle from someone who was moving and wanting to rehome her Christmas paper - I thought - what? 2 or 3 rolls - well, more like 5, but all partials, but they started as really big rolls! Then I got 3 more rolls from my mother! and I don't even REMEMBER where some of the others came from - I think when a friend moved to a nursing home - nobody else wanted the paper and I have a shed... well, 5 of them actually.... I have bought one roll its BRIGHT red - but I haven't touched it. I generally use up quite a bit while wrapping the roomie's gifts, but we did that at her mom's this year - with that paper not mine - so, only used up one partial, but a good chunk of another partial - might still find a way to use that up too... crafting - maybe I'll get some more papermache boxes after xmas and glue paper to them.... I just painted them white this year - I could paint then paper - didn't have time to do that this year

Wow...the paper just keeps coming and coming for you,and I thought I had a lot of it..not even close. When things get less hectic you can use some of it on crafts and at least with the red paper you can probably have that handy anytime.I also use some of it for origami it looks festive on the dinner table. But at least you got through the chaotic part though! My problem is I forget where I put it and panic or I see one that is too pretty to resist, and yet it still lingers seems like there is no end to it..lol!But I guess we are prepared!

Oh that's good,I always wait until the last minute with my shopping which I hate as I can't deal with the crazy holiday shoppers every year I say I'll get it done early but it never happens for me..lol.Thankfully I didn't have to buy too much this year so I got off light this time around.Wrapping paper never seems to end still haven't used up mine from last year, sometimes I use a little for crafting most of the time it stays in my closet getting dust bunnies.

I invested time into making online and any time I do I just feel better about the time I did spend. And with the help of mylot, my small earnings are conjoined with interesting and engaging thoughts from others.

I am not sure I understand, but congratulations. I achieved staying optimistic even though the sun has not been out for two days. That is not unusual some places, but here in the desert it is rare. Most days I am just naturally happy. Some people call me a Pollyanna after the little girl in the movie who went around all optimistic and spreading cheer. Yep, that's me. PS: I see you are a Tolkien reader/fan.

Yes, I saw that. Did you know that Tolkien was a professor of Anglo Saxon Literature (Old English). Have you read Beowulf?

Thanks drannhh,no worries half the times I don't understand myself...think it's my flighty nature which I can't quell and I have a tendency to go off topic it keeps things interesting I am tickled my friends are so understanding of that..lol!Pollyanna is cute I loved the movie, and I think that is the best way to be..to see the bright side to things even when you are sad.And it helps those having a bad day too get them to smile and believe that things aren't as bad as they look,it's a great way to be.Yes I love Tolkien he is one of my favorite writers and he created elven languages and opened the door to a magical world I love to imagine myself in ..the guys a genious..in fact my mylot quote on my profile is in Quenya!

Smiling for the first time is a great feeling right? Don't overdo it though because if you smile more than three times you get shouted at by the PTB You can't even wink too often either

Hey faery! Great to see you again! Have been missing you my dear lady! I can't really remember smiling much myself! Once in awhile my friends will make me smile or even laugh! But, I surely don't do it half as much as I used to do! Sometimes my boyfriend and I will laugh at something silly one of us does, but those times are few and far between! And sometimes we can laugh at some things the cats will do! They're sometimes good for a joke, even though they don't know why we're laughing at them! My cat Luna will just plomp down in the middle of the rug and roll around crazy for no reason talking away! And he just looks up at my boyfriend waiting for a response! Now, my bf is so not an animal person so that alone is funny! But, once in awhile he will give in and bend down and "talk" to Luna and pet him! You have to find things to make you smile, faery! Even if they are the simplest things! Hugs to you and try to keep smiling! Wishing you the merriest Christmas and Happiest New Year!

Today is the first time I have been out after having the swine flu and taken my dogs for a walk, then I scraped the ice of the garden path and cleared the patio, that was good enough for me and I has acheived something by going out..it was lovely to breath in the crisp fresh air...LoLo

Blessings to you LoLo...sorry to hear that you have been sick.I am glad you are improving though and were able to get up and about.I understand the feeling when I was sick for months last year and the thrill I felt just being able to sit on my patio was great.I hope you get even better quick.Lovely to see you.Take care.XX

I agree, it is ALWAYS a great feeling to get out and get some fresh air when cooped up! I had a baby via c-section on October 7th, and when I was FINALLY released 3 days later I was so happy to go outside in the crisp, autumn air! When I got home I think I went back outside and sat on the front step for about an hour LoL!

I think that is a great way to be,When I am not going through a brooding phase I find I am easily amused and that is my usual state.and I like it there...I lost it for awhile but it's nice to have found it again and keep smiling and being who you are I think it's lovely.
