Strange mail.

I received a $10 gift card in the mail today. The envelope was hand written in red ink with no return address. I opened it and it was wrapped in a blank piece of paper. The postage says it was mailed from zip code 55426. My husband checked and the zip code is Minnesota. It was mailed on Dec. 14, 2009. I, for the life of me, can't think of anyone that I know that lives in Minnesota. Anyway, I just want to let whoever it is know that I GREATLY appreciate the gift. THANK YOU and Merry Christmas!!!!
Do you know who sent it to me?

It may actually be a person you've never known. They might of sent it to the wrong address, or just sent that card to a random person with a random address.

Maybe but I've moved numerous times since school. I'm in my 30's and haven't stayed in touch with anyone from school. The one's that I have recently gotten in touch with, all live in MD or IN. I really have no clue.

Oh, guess I didn't read that part. You have some random friend out there you might of known during school, and remembered you and sent you the card.\
Happy Holidays to you too!

That's what camodad found. I really can't think of anyone from that area. I'm in PA near Gettysburg. I've only ever been to CT, CA, VA, NC and MD. I really don't know of anyone in the MN area that would do this.

Have you gone through all your friend's lists, as well, to see if you have any friends in MI that might be able to send ya one? Least it would narrow it down some.
After lurking in your friend's list, I do see at least one person from MI on there. Could this person have your addy, by chance, and sent it knowing you could really use it? I could see it happening being the person is a very wonderful friend.

Only a few choice friends from here have my home addy AND phone number so maybe you did the same and possibly forgot giving it out?
Just throwing out suggestions here, camo.

I still don't know who it was but I think I may have an idea now. Someone in New York but I don't know why it would have been sent from Minnesota instead of New York.

Something similar is happening in my county for the past 5yrs. The Salvation Army has their kettles out and someone is being very very very generous with solid gold coins worth over $1000 a piece. So far this Christmas, over 10 of these coins have been discovered in various kettles throughout the county. The have yet to figure out who is being 'Santa' to the Salvation Army.

Hey there! I have absolutely NO idea who sent you the card. I think it was very nice of who ever it was to do it anonymously. Makes for a much more fun affair I would say. Don't you think? Doing things anonymously adds some mystery and makes it a much a nicer gift. Don't you think so?

I do have to agree with you but I'm used to being the one on the other end of it, The giver not the receiver. I guess I should just enjoy it and stop searching for them. If they wanted me to know, they would have included the return address or a note. Happy Holidays to you!

That sounds like an honest to goodness blessing! I have never been that lucky in terms of receiving free things spontaneously. What did you do with the $10 gift card you received? It would have been a nice treat for yourself since I bet you've spent a lot buying Christmas gifts for your family and friends :)

My, aren't you a lucky one! I wonder how they got your address. I should really think the person knows you, or it could be that your name was on a shop's database whatsoever and they have a main office in Minnesota or something. I mean, it's possible right?
Anyway, if I were you, I wouldn't worry about that now. It's a great blessing to receive something on Christmas.

Saw my name mentioned a couple times here.
It must be someone close to my area as my zip is 55433.
But it was not me.
I bought 2 WII systems at the last minute so I have no cash left.

Hey camomom! I just hope for your sake that it really is a
legitimate gift card! I guess you won't know until you try to
use it in whichever store it is intended for! But, please beware!
There are so many scamers out there who send this sort of stuff
all the time! Make sure that this card is really legit before you
get your hopes up! I don't want to see you get disappointed!

How did the person get your address in the first place? That is fascinating. The person may be a mylotter. :) But the address bit is quite intriguing. :) I am not the person who did such a good thing. But I am mighty glad somebody did something good to make another person happy. :)
