Sleeping positions?

When I sleep I have to make sure that I am on my stomach with my leg arched to my waist with my toes hanging off the edge only because I can not stand it when things touch my toes especially at night....if I am on my side or back I can be comfortable but I will not fall asleep.
So how do you sleep and do you have any weird bedtime habits?

I do! I am just the opposite from you. I can't have my feet dangling off the bad. I am always afraid someone or something will tickle or nip at my toes. Something from my childhood perhaps I don't know. I like to be laying on my right side and feet doubled up in the near fetal position. I usually wake during the night and turn onto my stomach and have one leg doubled and the other straight.

I sleep on my right side, fetal position with my right hand under the pillow. My left hand is on top of whichever of the dogs won the favorite spot curled next to my tummy.

Hehe..my dog would love to get onto my bed but she has to stay on her own which is still vry comfortable maybe even more comfortable than mine. We used to let her get on the bed but then we got new sheets and comforter and decided that we will keep her off the new ones because we were tired of eating dog haor all night lol Thanks a bunch for your response whiteheather

I love to sleep on my stomach as well, but lately it is not that comfortable for me and I just cannot find a good position where I am comfortable. I hate that because then I do not get a good night's sleep.

I hate when that happens, I remember when I had my hysterectomy and wasn't able to sleep on my stomach, it was some of the most restless nights ever...I know I slept in a recliner for a few nights during that time and it seemed to help maybe you could try something like that if a recliner is available...Thanks a bunch for your response winterose

I usually start out curled up like a cat, but I change positions often throughout the night.
When I was a child, I avoided putting my feet over the edge of the mattress so that the monsters under the bed wouldn't grab them.

Well I don't think you and celticeagle should try sleeping in the same bed together because there may not be enough room if neither of you want your feet to hang off the bed because if the monsters...like I told her if you stop washing your feet they monsters just might stay away because if the smell Thanks a bunch for your response barbaraprz

If I lay on my back, I'll start dozing off but the pre-nasal drip wakes me up. There's something bothering my lower right hip, so I start off laying on my left side. After an hour or two I then often wind up on my back. I have to position my feet so they are not bothered by the blanks. I sometimes fall victim to leg cramps.

Same with me here. I can't stand it if there are things touching my toes or if the mattress is small for my legs. Ha ha.. But I am always comfortable sleeping in the side position. I sometimes sleep on my stomach, but usually, I crouch a little to my side and sleep. That's the most comfortable position for me.
I don't have a weird bedtime. I have a fixed bedtime, and it's any time between 1:00 A.M. and 2:30 A.M.

I can lay in other positions and be comfortable but I am just never able to fall asleep...I go to bed around midnight at the latest, if not than I am very tired th next day Thanks a bunch for your reponse cobradene

On my side with a pillow between my knees or on my back with a pillow under my knees. Hm, what's a weird habit. I do sleep with earplugs due to a certain person's snoring. And I do often end up petting cats at odd hours.

My back used to be a lot worse. And I wake up for the cats. Sometimes with the earplugs I will sleep through the alarm, but mostly not.

I think that is why I sleep on my stomach with my knee somewhat propped because it seems to straighten my back up and helps relieve any pain to my back the next morning...Thanks a bunch for your response antique

Have you tried a pillow between your knees for comfort? I have tried it before and it seems to help relieve the pain on the back a little bit. Thanks a bunch for your response apples

Normally, I sleep in a fetal position with my knees almost touching my chin, especially when its cold. Sometimes, I lay straight, flat on my stomach with my arms tucked in to my sides (like a folded wing), and my right foot on top of the left. And sometimes, lay on my back with my arms folded on my stomach, like sleeping in a coffin. lol. But my favorite would be the fetal position.

I sleep with 4 pillows on my bed. I sleep on my side with one pillow between my knees so that my lower back doesn't hurt when I get up in the morning. My one hand is usually under my face and I'm sleeping in a fetal position.

I have often laid like that numerous times and I agree that it is very comfortable on the back....you don't use the other three pillows for under your head do you? That would cause some terrible neck pains...thanks a bunch for your response lelin

I normally end up on my side or stomach. Sometimes on my side. At least that how I start. It depends on what ends up. How I start isn't always how I end up. Sometimes I get on my back and doze for a few minutes. But, eventually pain wins out. So I wake up and am up until pain is gone.

I am sorry about your pain....
I am sure that we all toss and turn throughout the night, there are most nights that I wake up in a different postition than what i started as well but for the most part I wake up still on my stomach...Thanks a bunch for your response kaylachan

I always sleep on my side in a fetal position close to the wall. Sadly we only have a single bed in my tiny apartment, so my husband ends up on the couch. LOL If we are in a hotel and can share a bed, then we will sleep wrapped around eachother, but if I am sleeping alone, I will sleep close to the wall.

Well there is always the option of sleeping like a sandwich right on top of one another LOL... that stinks that you have to sleep apart from one another or is it? I know on the days when my husband gets up before me than I will grab up his pillow and hog the whole bed mostly on his side at times I notice I do this even without realizing LOL My husband and I will most of the time start out cuddling over one another but within a few moments we split and get into our regular positions so we can fall asleep...Thanks a bunch for your response danish
