Are We To Expect Low Quality Responses Today?

I know for me I'm still going to try my best to follow the guidelines I've place for myself and for me its normally the 4-5 line rule and only responding to discussions that I feel like I can really contribute to. And I've noticed a huge influx already of discussions. Normally my interest at the top span from 1 minute to 1 hour but at this very moment the lowest is 8 minutes. But I guess that means more of a chance for me to respond as well since some days I feel like there isn't really much to respond to.

Yes I have noted the same observation too. Normally, when I am scanning for discussions to respond to, I have to continually checking back again to see if anything new comes up. This time out, when I am away for a while to respond to a discussion, there goes 4-5 new discussions added up into my chosen interest. It is amazing how that alert could motivate members here.

I agree. It would be a nice holiday present that most of us would be able to look forward to before we go on breaks or vacations for the holidays. I am sure it would be a nice send off and would give us opportunity to catch up on our earnings as well.

You are completely right! But another thing I just thought about when you mentioned the one liner discussions, I wonder if those will get more responses that normally wouldn't be there. I know I don't normally respond to low quality discussions but others might - and with GREAT responses because they figure its another response. Do you know if mylot pays you less when responding to a poor quality discussion than one that is more substantial?

I do not think it matter really what kind of a discussion you are responding to. Unless the discussion gets deleted, you will get paid for the quality of post you have posted. The quality of discussion where you are participating does not really matter as far as I know. So, you can participate in low quality discussion and try to enrich it a little more. Have a nice day.

At least this is not good for all the persons that make an effort to make a logical response to read answer with lo quality that are made just for the money. I just am doing what I normally do. I do not post a lot of discussions on a regular basis. I do when I really need help on something or if I have a burning question. You are right though, they are disappearing off the list very quickly. I think I am done responding to the holidays in general questions. They are getting old and the answers are all the same. Nobody knows the exact amount your earn from each posts but most members will tell you 4-5 lines is a good amount to normally earn somewhere around at least 1 cent for your post if not more. It really all depends on a lot of things and amount isn't all of it, description is part of it and the secret equation hasn't been leaked. It's been my understanding as well that one liners won't give you any money or maybe they give you a small percentage of a cent to where its going to take a ton just to make 1 cent on here. Either way I just don't bother with them and I try for at least 4-5 lines and minimum for me is normally 3. If I can't write 3 lines worth of information its probably not worth my time responding. But yes capitalization, punctuation, and grammar is a big part of the earning process. For me I'm glad I have spell check on Firefox to where I can see when I make a mistake so I can fix it.

I know that I'm going to try to post as often as possible today. It's great for this opportunity to arise for me since I've been wanting to make payment because I'm home on break and I'm about $4 shy of that mark. Normally I can earn $.30-.40 on a good day so I'm hoping today I'm over that $1 if I double what I normally post and get double the amount.

I would hope all members would realize that but there are members that just don't understand the rules and they think a one or two liner is going to earn them at least a cent or whatever no matter what when in fact mylot sometimes won't credit you at all for a post.

Yes - I don't like not having enough high quality discussions to reply to and its a shame. But no I completely agree with people posting just for the sake of responding. I think the biggest ones are when I reply to someone's discussion and all they reply back is thanks, have a great day! It makes me wonder how much of my reply they truly read.

Thankfully I haven't seen a ton of spamming today - at least not on my interests but I can't tell about all of them. I know I got an alert yesterday so thankfully I had enough time to really know that I needed to be on today. Also it caused me not to go on as often yesterday so therefore I wouldn't get bored with the site for being on forever. I'm just trying to reach payout and I'm a little over $4 from getting it so hopefully with 100 posts today (my goal) I'll be extremely close.

I am doing the same. Normally I am completely fine with my 4-5 line response but today I'm going to try to go above and beyond yet. I feel like I should probably say as much as possible because each response is going to be worth a lot today and how knows just a little bit more detail and description could cause a normal 1 cent increase which becomes 2 and that can be a big deal when talking per response.

Yes I'm hoping it does become an annual thing and I do believe with you that if too many people abuse it we aren't going to see it again. Just keep your fingers cross with me that the day goes over really well for everyone and we can see it happen again. But knowing mylot we probably won't know until next year if its going to be a continued thing.

I don't read low quality discussions - but its not the fact that they are present and clogging up the boards as much as they might arise because of this double value. We all are giving them a chance but it doesn't take a person much time to read the guidelines and FAQs to know that if you post low quality posts you aren't going to earn anything from them so in a way they are cheating themselves out. I literally just posed the question if people are going to think more low quality posts will be present today.

I was on right after it turned midnight since I was still up and at moment is was just a ton of new discussions being posted and I found a few that I was interested in but like you said there were a ton that just didn't seem worthwhile to try to respond to. I'm hoping as the day goes on and a lot more people become active and realize what day it is some users will post a lot of good quality discussions so I have more to respond to. My goal for today is 100 new responses so therefore I know I'm making a good amount and it shouldn't take me too long since I can normally knock out a response in 2-3 minutes but now I'm trying to respond to my discussion and its crazy the amount of responses I'm getting because on a good day its normally no more than 10.

I use to rate people negatively but in a sense I don't think it really gets the point across to them, instead if a person's rating goes down they tend to complain all across the boards about it. I just wish there was a better rating system in place, but probably no matter what we do people will learn how to beat the system and use it to their advantage.

I think that is a good idea. Just not to even worry about making double the money and instead think that you're making the same amount so tomorrow when we look at our earnings it would be an extra surprise. This makes me wonder if it would of been better for mylot not to have told what it would have been and then let it be a complete surprise or at least say something like you're going to really want to make great discussions and responses today because a gift is involved or bonus is involved. Something that would still emphasis quality instead of quantity.

That is true and I'm guessing the people that stick to really low quality posts today in hopes of gaining more are going to be complaining tomorrow when they don't see too much of a rise in how much they are making. I'm just keeping my fingers cross and hoping for the best.
