I know it sounds daft my friend, but I guess it's because I am a male but I like to put moisturizer on my skin to protect my face especially from the cold elements but when I am in the gym I feel embarrassed if I put it on in case other guys might think I am too feminine! So I have to wait till I get home and put it on, which means going home with the cold attacking my skin! This I think is a problem for men too, not so much make up, but a lot of men do like putting moisturizer on their skin but fear not to do it in front of other men!

hello youless!
i think i am guilty of it before...hehe coz i don't mind putting some powder & a lipstick on the bus few minutes before we reach our destination, and when i was still in college, i also retouch inside the classroom every after class...hehe
but that was before! now, i am not doing such things anymore, i just do my retouching on the ladies room...except combing of hair! haha

I always do it in my own room infront of that huge mirror but there were two colleagues of mine when we pick them from home (company transport) they would have just woke up, they sit in the van and start putting make up. And everything was so just perfect. I always admire it. I cant do it.

Hey you gave me a nice idea. I will use a locker in office to keep my stuffs as well. No need to carry them daily when you can easily take a locker and keep the cosmetics safely inside it. Right now I am new joinee, so don't know much about locker system but I do see women taking their make-up out of the lockers!

I usually don't put make up before going out of my house for job. I do it after reaching my office. I leave in hurry in the morning so I don't get sufficient time to do my hair, wear a matching ear-ring, use eye pencil and put on my favorite lip-stick. These are few minimum things which I do and I swear I can't do them in public since when I see someone doing it in train or bus, I can see people, not just men even women, staring at them blankly as if thinking that the lady is showing off her beauty and her make up products People will just laugh at it while discussing later and I don't want to become a laughing stock just because I did some basic make-up

and by the way, i don't mind what other people will say...hehe they don't know me!

yes, so do i.i seldom make up in public.usually i make up at my room if necessary.
i think it's not polite to make up in public .if it's not necessary instantly.we should n't do it in public.if we need make up,we should prepare in advance.

out of curiosity, why do you consider it rude.
I was brought up with very good manners, and never once have I been led to believe there is anything rude in putting on make up in public.
if it was something like waxing your legs, I'd understand, but seeing someone putting make up on isn't unpleasant or offensive to see.

If it's elyliner or mascara or even lip gloss then I'll fix it in public but things like foundation and powder I'd go to a washroom or just leave it until I got home.
I find it's too much hassle to take all that with you unless you're going away for longer than a day.

hehe, when i was still working, i also do it on the bus...hehe few minutes before we reach the bus stop! i don't feel embarrass or whatever, what matters to me is to finish it and be ready for work! anyway, i am just putting some powder & a lipstick coz my eye liners are already done in the house...so its more of retouching!

It's a big no-no, grooming in public should not be a habit ladies.
I agree with you, doing these things should be done in the washroom :) proper etiquette should be managed :)

Like you, I prefer to do my make up at home or where no one is watching instead of in the public. I would feel awkward if people around me are watching while I do the make up. Sometimes, when I feel like I need to do a touch up particularly at the T-zone area, I will take a look around me and if nobody is watching, I would just dab the powder as fast as I could.

I have done my make up a few times in a public bathroom, but because I have where to leave my makeup tools. However, it's impossible for me to do my makeup in the car, bus or train, as it moves too much and my hand shakes, making impossible to do it properly.

me too, i would hardly do my makeup in public. i'd prefer to be in an enclosed space to do so, so it beats my imagination when i see other people doing so... not that it's bad. it just goes a long way to show that there are different people.
