I used to have this chat service before but now i don't have it. This was a fad back then when the advent of instant messaging is still penetrating in the mainstream. I love the simplicity of this type of chat service because it's text chat based. But now, it's not that popular anymore since majority prefers video and voice chat softwares. Most especially on skype and other instant messaging softwares.

It's been a couple years for me now, but I was an IRC junkie from way back, back when it was the only real form of communication on the net. I first got in to it about 20 years or so ago, my brother turned me on to it. I was a regular on the undernet servers, mostly in social channels, though i did visit a few movie download and software channels after I got on broadband. I kinda miss it and thought about taking it up again though, just to see whats left of it.

Wow, that brings back memories! The only thing I knew about the internet for two years was IRC. I tried a few different programs, then found mIRC. I owned a channel on Undernet and spent quite a bit of time there. It's a culture unto itself! Now you have me nostalgic. I wonder what happened to all those people.
I remember when ICQ came on the scene. I would go into a room on IRC and it would be full of people but no one would be chatting because they'd all be on ICQ. It irritated me for awhile, but eventually I got on ICQ, too.
If mIRC is still around, it's probably a lot more complicated than it was back then.

MIRC, that name takes me way back. I don't use it anymore. I did use it back when I was online for the first few years. Don't really remember any specifics, but I found it to be an interesting experience. Still that was a nice trip down memory lane.
