With almost everyone connected to the internet and with almost everyone having their own e-mail accounts, I am sure that almost all correspondences are done through them. Now that Christmas is few days away, how many among you still send Christmas cards through the post office? How many among you still receive Christmas cards through snail mail? I still do and nothing really beats the personal touch of a Christmas card carefully chosen and personally written on by the sender.

yeah I still receive xmas cards through the mail, but in this age of re-cycling I personally think they are a unnecessary item unless they are cards which have been made from recycled card.
The amount of waste that is produced at xmas is ridiculous xmas cards toy wrapping etc etc
don't get me wrong I like receiving cards but to be honest all the pollution to transport them around the world and deliver them is better avoided.
Just my personal opinion.

Hi there benny128!
I perfectly understand your opinion on the amount of waste produced during this time of the year. I think that we should all push for the use of Christmas cards made out of recycled materials. That of course is for our own good.
Thanks for the response.

The majority of my non-cyber friends have sent me and/or have received from me conventional Christmas cards through the post. A few cyber friends have as well. I shall send a number of cyber cards as well and this year I have joined a card site especially for the purpose. My annual round robin letter was the subject of a discussion last week. I don't like the things at all but wrote one anyway! Merry Christmas.

I know what you mean. I do have friends who still do not use the internet and those who do but I know would prefer the conventional Christmas cards.

We still send and receive Christmas cards. We have ours personally done. We design them, personalize them with our names, and then we send them out to our friends. We have received some really nice cards from them too, this year, and in the past years. A lot of people have been sending really nice cards, even in these days of e-mail.

Wow! That's great! I used to make personalized cards too. That was when I was in high school and college. When I started working, I really did not have much time to design cards. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Hiya danishcanadian,
I still send Christmas Cards out but they are not that brilliant. I have to really search around to find some decent ones. Anyway it´s still the thought that counts more than anything.
It´s great if you can design your own cards I have never had the opportunity or the time.

I always send actual Christmas cards through the mail. I understand why some people don't, or can't, but I like to make sure I do it. I think it shows that extra bit of caring. And I have to say, it always makes me feel a little better when I get Christmas cards in the mail too.

Hiya AmbiePam,
Showing you care with Christmas Cards is very important to some People. I send Card to whom I can over there in England just to be able to keep some kind of connection going. Even though my efforts might fall flat on their face.
Nevertheless I still feel better knowing I have tried.

Yes and guess what? I take it another level up and MAke my own cards heh heh.
I love scrapbooking and part of it gives me lots of extra materials to make cards with. also there are many christmas themed paper with cute little snow men and reindeer and robins that i can tear out and adorn my cards with.
this year, I've sent out 6 cards overseas, together with a newsletter of my family. long hand-written note inside the card too!

Hiya squaretile,
That´s a really good idea if you have Family to send to. I don´t have that kind of Family at the moment so I just send Cards the most adequate ones I can find and I often write a little verse or Poem of my own too. Better than nothing eh. You are clever though.

Hey dolce! Yes, I still send Christmas cards through snail mail!
I have some friends who still prefer to get their Christmas
Cards this way and frankly so do I! I do love my e-cards too,
but I also like to be able to get my regular Christmas Cards
so that I can display them! I also still have friends who
don't use computers and like to get snail mail Christmas Cards
because that is all they know, and my Mother is one of those
people! Have a very Merry Christmas dolce! Hugs, Opal

We still do and yeah, I agree that nothing beats a hand written message (be it a letter or a card for that matter). We received a card from someone we know, probably a relative in a different country. I also like sending birthday cards. A reason to send them something on such a day.
Yeah, emails make it too convenient that we even sometimes take it for granted.

Yes, even in the twenty first century. We still get greeting or holiday cards by snail mail. I still enjoy getting them. Because you can see the effort the person put into writing it. I like seeing the cards and the pictures on them. I cherish them.
