I doubt Villa would move to Man U in January. Though the move may be mooted in the summer's transfer window. I think Man U does not need to delve into the transfer market this Jan. Their injured players are just returning back from injury and they are slowly getting back their full squad. They are also not loosing too many players in the African Cup of Nations. So to me Man U does not need to strengthen the squad.
Cheers!

I hope Man Utd buy someone in January but it seems unlikely. Actually, the squad we have right now is pretty decent. If not for the injuries to defenders and a few players being off colour, we may have been at the top of the table. Anyways, we're not too far away from it.
If Sir Alex eventually decides to enter the market, I hope we David Silva for a swap deal which includes Nani. I know Nani is talented, but he's not showing maturity or signs of it. He's been given enough time. I think letting him go will be the right option as he's paid well but is hardly played. Silva will also provide that creativity we lack at times in the midfield in absence of Giggs.
Coming to David Villa, not a good option according to me. He's around 28 and will be past his prime in about 3 years. So, paying an astronomical sum for a player like him, I don't think SAF would even consider doing so. Also, keeping in mind the club's policy of not spending big on players over the age of 26 makesVilla arrival at Old Trafford all the more impossible. I guess we need to give Berbatov some. He's just recovered from an injury picked up during the international break. He was actually showing good form before he was injured. Once we have a fully fit squad, we should be lethal in the coming months.

Hello mejust,
I do think we need to sign at least one more striker and one more versatile defender. But sir Alex somewhat stated that he is unlikely to bring another player in January. I think loan player like Hendrik Larsson 2 years ago is more likely. I just hope that the injury crisis will be solved soon. If all the injured player are back, I believe United have perfect squad in quality and depth to acquire League top spot again this season.
David Villa? He is 28 years old, and the price is quite expensive. I will suggest to sign Luca Toni instead as he is likely available on free price though his age is already 30+, but still, he is free. For the defender, I hope United can sign Joleon Lescott and Wayne Bridge if he is really to dumped by Roberto Mancini.

It sure would be nice to have a player of the quality of David Villa. Sir Alex has said that he is not looking to bring anyone in during the transfer window. It looks as though the defensive crisis will be sorted in January so there may be no need to dip into the transfer kitty.

Manchester United do seem to need defenders in a hurry. But given the condition of the coffers and loan situation, Sir Alex is unlikely to sign very expensive players and David Villa is certainly expensive.Let us see what Sir Alex has up his sleeve. He does have the ability to surprise with converting not so famous people into big stars.Maybe he has some such people on his mind.
