How do you see christmas -as an occasion to enjoy, and celebrate the birth of Jesus or an occasion to bring yourself much closer, to what he believed, taught lived and died for?

I was raised Catholic and so I certainly understand the religious point to Christmas... However, I am not attached to any religion as an adult and do not find myself celebrating any holiday for the religious reasons. I love Christmas because it is a time to be with my friends and family and show each other why they are special to me. I do not buy a ton of presents for people. I take the time with each person I care about and show them why. I do not really need a holiday to do this on but I choose to do it at Christmas time because it makes me feel good. I love the lights and the tree and the decoreations. I love the good food and the smell of cookies baking in the kitchen... I love to reach out to people from my past and I love to receive cards!

christmas for me is an occasion to have some rest and to stay with people that i love, my family and my girlfriend. i like the christams atmosphere all around us, everything is colored, there are a lot of people around to buy christmas presents, and shops sells good things that is difficult to find in other seasons. I liek when itsnowing on christmas, and i like to stay at home, maybe under a warm blanket near the fire. I love also foods that my mother cooks in christmas period.
