Hello everyone. I was just wondering how many of you co-sleep with your little ones. If you do how old are they and do you plan to move them to their own room soon? Also, do you use a co-sleeper beside your bed or do you let them actually sleep in your own bed? I co-sleep with my almost 5 month old son. He does sleep in my bed, but we take every precaution to make it as safe as possible. We do plan to move him to his own room slowly in about a month or two. I don't feel ready to have my baby away from me at night yet. I said i would never co-sleep while i was pregnant, and here i am a co-sleeping mommy!

I was just like you. When I was pregnant I didn't understand how anyone could co-sleep with their baby in the bed with them. I thought it would be very dangerous but I soon found out the reason why it can be. If you do your research you will find that when accidents have occurred involving co-sleeping it was because the mom's or dad's were on some sort of medication or had been drinking. I have not heard of one incident where a 100% sober mother or father has hurt their child while co-sleeping. My husband and I tried to put our son in a cradle at the foot of our bed when he was born but he hated it. The only time any of us would get any sleep is if he were lying next to me. So, I decided to just co-sleep with him. At first, my husband would just sleep on the couch at night but then we pushed the bed against the wall and our son would sleep between me and the wall. Sometimes people will look at me in shock when I tell them that but amazingly when you're a mommy, you learn how to sleep with one ear open and are constantly aware of your little one so, trust me, you won't roll over on your baby. Co-sleeping was the best thing in the world. I looked forward to going to bed knowing I was going to snuggle with my baby boy. When he was about 6 months old, we transitioned him to his crib, which he took to very quickly and now I can't even get him to nap with me. =( I recommend co-sleeping as long as you can because its an amazing feeling.
