Right, my problem is that I downloaded the Gomez peer and installed it in Vista, knowing that it was'nt compatible I changed the priorites of both the installer and peer program to run in compatability mode for Windows XP.
Result, installed, perhaps not properly but definitely not running when the exe. is called.
Next I tried booting into Ubuntu and downloaded the Wine Windows emulator, mounted my vista volume and pasted the install file accross to the desktop then installed into Wine.
The same thing happened, when I run the Gomez peer, the gomez terminal won't open and I get an error message that I can't connect to the gomez server.
Has anyone had any success installing the peer into anything other than Windows 95 to XP?

I'm not sure Gomez peer will work on any other than Windows 95 to XP, because I not yet test it for other OS. I have successful install it on Windows 98 Me and XP, and sometimes I got message "Failed to connect" may be because my connection not yet ready.

I've been running Gomez since I'd had it on my last machine that ran XP...My Latest machine runs Vista, and I've had no problems with the peer,I hadn't heard it wasn't compatible!..it pays out regularly for Me most months..
