We usually put up our Christmas tree on Black Friday or at the latest, that Friday. This year I just wasn't in the mood to do it. We ended up putting it up today. Our 3 year old is happy. Our 19 month old doesn't care and our 8 year old is at his bio-mom's this week and won't even get to see it, atleast not until Monday. When do you usually put yours up or do you put one up?

I haven't put up a tree for several years due to illness and lack of interest. Oh, and the financial end of it also. I usually put ours up as soon after Thanksgiving as possible. It is more a matter of when we can afford it and how we can get it home. It all worked out in the end. We might even put one up next year!

It just varies. This year it went up last Saturday. Usually it's a week to two weeks before Christmas.
PS are you on Yuwie? I saw a layout by camomom over there....

Like you, we usually put ours up on black friday or soon after but this year, it was about a week or so after that we put it up. I won't put it up before Thanksgiving because it's like shoving Christmas before Thanksgiving and I don't want to do that. Besides, we get tired of seeing it after a while and this way, we get to enjoy it for the time being.

That's exactly how I feel about about it. let one holiday be over before celebrating the next.

My decorations normally get put up late November early December but this year for some unknown reason neither my son or I have been in the Christmassy spirit so we haven't got our tree up let alone any decorations..guess in a sense as am on my own it will seem like another day and as no-one will be here to enjoy them either the spirit of having them up isn't there maybe next year...LoLo

I think a lot of people felt the same way this year. Nobody was in the mood. I hope you had a nice day anyway.

I leave it up for one month and it comes down on Boxing day
I have never started the new year with the tree up

I haven't put up a tree in over 20 years. I don't even have one. I couldn't afford one now anyhow. Since we had cats the were always knocking the tree down so my son had to make a choice, tree or cats, of course he chose his cats.

It's really hard for someone to call my tree a Christmas tree with a straight face, but I put up my Christmas tree a day or so after Thanksgiving. I wish I could get a picture of it and post it online. I'd probably win a contest along the lines of scariest Christmas tree ever.

Usually we put it up the weekend after thanksgiving. But this year we just weren't motivated to do it. I think it was the weekend after that we got the tree up and then it took us another week to decorate it. It was hard to find time to get it done. Our weekends were busy and till the kids got home from school and got supper and homework and bathed, there wasn't time to decorate the tree before bed.

That's a good time to put it up. I wouldn't let my kids talk me into it this year. I just wasn't in the mood.

Most years i put my christmas tree up in the week following thanksgiving..and then it stay up until the day after new years..
Most years but this year. I dunno what my problem is/was, but i just coudln't get the gumption up to dig out the tree, and the decorations....and re-arrange furniture to have a place to set it up...and all the work involved *sigh*...i am actually kinda sad about it now....but it is only a couple days til christmas, and i am not even going to be here for the holiday, i am going to my boy friends out of state so it would be worthless now, not to mention i don't have the time.
this year, i jut haven't felt the christmas bug. I know times are tough all around for everyone, but i guess i just kind of felt that putting up all the docorations and stuff would really just remind me that i wasn't really gonna have much of a christmas this year. I still haven't even wrapped the few presents i got for my boyfriends daughter and his family gift exchange yet. i have GOT to get on that tomorrow (along with packing for the long weekend), and christmas eve will be all traveling, so i won't have time then..

I know what you mean. It seems like nobody was in the mood this year, except the kids. We didn't wrap gifts until 10pm on Christmas Eve. Hope you had a nice time.

I normally don't bother because we live in an apartment and are cramped as it is will all the kids' stuff, but my father-in-law bought a new artificial tree so he gave us his old one. It sat in the car for about a week, then on Dec 20 I put it up but couldn't get the lights to work! So then I asked my grandpa to come over and fix the lights for me. There are no presents under it (we are really impatient in my family and opened them already!). Our 5 month old likes to look at the lights, but thats about it. I decorated it over a period of 5 days. I guess I wasn't in the mood either. Bah Humbug!

Hubby put ours up on the 23rd (I think). I undecorated it yesterday (Jan. 4). We usually put it up on the Friday after Thanksgiving and take it down on New Years. I'll probably finish taking it down tonight or tomorrow. I just did NOT want to deal with Christmas this year.
