Two Browsers at Once?

Can you have two browsers, for example Internet Explorer and Firefox, open and in use that the same time? I use both Internet Explorer and Firefox for different things but I haven't tried them at the same time for fear it would create some kind of a conflict. I use Firefox for uploading files to file storage site because Internet Explorer no longer works for uploading at that site for some reason, although I can still go to the site and check my account and I can download from the site with IE. So can anyone tell me if it is safe to actively use two different browsers at the same time?

Yes it is very possible. I've tried it and it can be done. Two different browsers can be used at the same time. A fair warning, there might be memory issues and your computer will slow down but that's the case when you run multiple programs to begin with. Still, it can in fact be done, at least in my experience.

Thanks, I guess I may try it. Although the slowing down could be a problem when uploading files which is not a fast thing anyway.

Yes, you can use as many browser as you want in the same time. They have different cookies storage, you even can log in to multi facebook account in the same time (one use IE, one use Mozilla, one use Opera, etc). Just watch the memory usage as browser tend to use heavy resources of your PC.

O'K, thanks. I guess I will have to be cautious since my computer is 4 years old and I don't have a large memory like the ones being sold these days have.

Yes you can use. I do not like Internet explorer at all. I am using IE6 which is not a good browser so I only like to use Fifefox. But these days I also have problem with firefox as it start take high amount of memory.

Absolutely, I used to use IE and Firefox simultaneously to be on Yuwie on two different IDs at the same time. Never had any problems with it.

You can open different browsers at the same time. If your internet speed is really slow then that will be the only problem since the more programs that needs to use the internet the slower the data will be sent to each requesting program. I use chrome, firefox and IE at the same time when I need some plugins that can't be used for the other web browsers.

Yes it is safe. However, some conflicts may occur. For example, if you've logged in to your Facebook account in IE and you try doing the same in Firefox, you'll be automatically logged out in IE, vice-versa. That's the worst it can get unless the two browsers decides to start a war and destroys each other ;)

Of course.... Why would it cause any sort of problem to run two browsers. Its just like running any two programs together, they just do the same thing. I would just ditch IE completely if I were you. Firefox is far superior.

You can use two or even three Internet browsers at the same time. You can surf using all of the browsers at the same time. There would not be any problem in doing so. The only thing I would not advise is to login to same account in different browsers at the same time. I mean if you login to Gmail in Internet Explorer and Firefox at the same time, you might get error message. The goes for other sites like banking sites etc. where you have to login.
