Recently I ran to the box office and grabbed by seat for the "New Moon" Vampire movie but not before I read the Novel. Now the movie "Lovely bones" (thriller) is being released Jan. 2010 and yes I have already read the novel. So my question to you is do you read the Novel of the movie, if there is one, or just go watch the movie? If you do what movies did you read first then go to see the movie?

I'm not too big of a reader so I usually watch the movie first before reading the book, however the only books I can think of that I read first before watching the movies are The Notebook and, I know this other series isn't out as a movie or anything yet but there are talks of it, the House of Night series. Those are the only books that I've read before the movie. I usually get lazy too when it comes to books and movies. I'll only read the book if the movie is really good and I like the plot.

House of Night series? Sorry it doesn't ring a bell. What is it about? It sounds interesting.

Usually, because of time constraints, I will see a movie first then decide if I want to invest the time in reading the book. Most of the time, if I liked the movie, I know I will also enjoy the book.
Some stories, however, I enjoyed as movies but don't believe I would like them in book form. Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist is one of my favorite movies but I think the book would probably bore me to tears. I have enjoyed the Twilight movies so far but the review I got from a good friend, who I trust because she has been known to blast through 3-5 books in a single week so she's an avid reader, was considerably less than favorable so unless I completely run out of things to read, I probably won't get into the Twilight books. I loved Interview with the Vampire but Anne Rice's writing style drives me batty.

That sounds more plausible since you don't have the time to read, and you are right about Nick and Norah's Infinite play-list, the movie bored me. But Twilight I liked reading the books but still the movies by far was better here.

Hi
i normally prefer to raed the novel rather than see teh movie
Because I am sure in a movie there will be a lot of elements missing which are covered deeply in the novel. The Da Vinci Code,The GReen Mile,Shawshank Redemption are to name the few.

You have a point but I still like checking the differences of the movie to the novel. Harry Potter the movies are better then the books.
