Has anyone seen the movie Avatar yet?

My god brother's friend said it was three hours long and the best movie he had ever seen period. I dunno, the last time someone told me that I fell asleep at the movies. If you have seen it and can give some details without ruining the plot please respond. I don't want to waste 3 hours of my life for an over-hyped movie. That happened with King Kong and I was disappointed. Is it truly one of the greatest movie ever? What genre would you classify as? Is it worth seeing in theaters?

i havent seen it yet...but i want to really bad! i have had a lot of friends see it and they said it was really really good! one guy even said it changed his life lol! i say see it and see what you think...cuz everyone is going to have different opinions...see it and make your own! thats what i want to do!

lol i know...my friend just said that it changed his life...so im assuming its really good! im going to wait till theres less people too...i remember when it first came out i had a lot of friends go and wait HOURS in line for the 12 o clock movie on thursday. im not gonna wait in line i want to have a good seat not crammed by other people! ill do the same!

I still haven't gone to see it, but there are movie posters everywhere lately, so I'm feeling curious. I don't know about the plot either, so I don't know if I should give it a try or not.

I havent seen it yet but I will tonight. I have heard it was an amaaazzing movie. So many good reviews on it. But trust me, I have a feeling Avatar is a movie worth watching! =]

Its a great movie after all. And I believe the story turned too fast. At first hour the story related so flat and fast. After that, the story line become unpredictable and faster. three hour duration is not enough to collect all information you need for this movie. It will be better if this movie being split like lord of the rings or like any other trilogy movies.
I think Its genres mixed between colossal and scifi.
