I will be watching Panday this Christmas with my family. Mostly for my little girl actually. I think of all the Panday movies they made this is the good one. When I was child, I thought the old Panday movies was great until I grew up. They prepared for this movie for more than a year to make it good. How about you guys, which movie do you wanna watch? Do you think Panday is worth watching? Please let me know your inputs! Happy Holidays everyone!

Do you mean Pandas ? If it son then it's OK. Pandas are very lovely mammals. Movies made on pandas are favorite for the children. As I'm a grown up man I like to watch romantic movies.

I think Panday is not an English word? It is a Tagalog word. Which is use to entitled the movie for Panday by Bong. Well, bhanusb if you have time? Try to buy a Original copy of Panday movie. I'm sure you will enjoy watching it because of it's good effects and action.

Pretty much what you said. Panday means "blacksmith" in english. I forgot to mention that. It's about a blacksmith named Flavio. Who was destined to fight evil and save people from the evil monster named Lizardo.

And in addition Panday have a special kind of sword which is really powerful and besides the sword have many special ability like a laser beam. If I'm not mistaken at the first the weapon is only a dagger then in times of trouble, flavio can make it as a sword. Well, this movie is enhance by Filipino history by Mr.Fernando Poe Jr. This man is the one who play in this movie at the first.

"Panday" means "blacksmith" in English. It's a filipino-fantasy-adventure movie.

I guess by now you've already seen the movie. So how was it? I am not really curious of this movie as Filipino movies are so predictable and can be quite irritating. I don't want to sound so antagonistic but it's always the same plot and the effects though much better are all sadly copied from hollywood films. seems to remind me of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I guess the movie will do for the kids but if I really wanted to watch a good movie, I'd pass up on this one.

I think this will be the best Panday movie yet. You know with all the 3D animation and visual effects. Did you see the trailer? It looks like they really prepared for the movie. I just hope there will be some twist to the plot, just for a little spice because this movie is already passe. Nonetheless, i think Panday will bag awards in he MMFF. long live panday, calyxus

Yeah they really did. For more than a year actually. Did you know that Philip Salvador portrayed Lizardo? I think he'll portray it beautifully! As for the plot, yeah I hope the storyline is much better this time.

Hello my friend yuna15 Ji, So nice of you for your such discussions, where child-hood memories play active part. In my case we never had such chances, We were never allowed to watch any movie during our child-hood. You will be surprised to know that we heve never visited to see any movie in theatre since five yrs now. Further, I have never watched this particular movie. May God bless You and have a great time.

The best Panday movie for me would definitely be where FPJ starred in. I don't know what part but it was when Panday fought all those minions in the desert and he was running towards his sword and the minions were chasing him. I believe that's the best Panday version of all. The only thing this new Panday has to offer is the enhanced graphics, and it's not that good at all. Panday and dragons just dont mix well.

hmmmm...not really following you...i just find this discussion and surprised to see you here! haha well, its not funny okay, its action adventure? i think. with some magics? hehe coz flavio (who is a blacksmith) made this dagger from the metal that he gets from a meteor...and since he's the one in the prophecy that could save the people from the evils, the dagger turns into sword when needed...hehe something like that... it was on theaters...and not free!

hi dawnald! yup, it is a philippine movie that featured a blacksmith (panday) that made a sword with magical powers out of a meteor that fell out of the sky. the lead character is named 'flavio' and was played by one of the more popular actors in philippine cinema, fernando poe, jr. he was so popular he ran for president in the past presidential election and lost becasue he was cheated(just had to mention it since next year is another presidential year for us filipinos). anyway, look it up at the internet and i'm sure you'll find tons of information about fernando poe, jr and the 'ang panday' movies that he starred in. hope this helps. cheers!!!

Though I have never seen it, I think this is the best one ever in terms of the special effects. GMA should cash in on this by tying it up with merchandising. I mean not the crappy T-Shirts or stickers and the likes but with honest to goodness quality action figures! They have done it with their Atlantica series but did not catched on. Hahaha. Merry Christmas!

hi yuna15! not so sure if i'll be watching any movies in the mmff this year. not really a big fan of filipino movies except for the indie ones. mainstream filipino movies that are churned by the same big industry players have recycled storylines and clearly insult the intelligence of the filipino viewing public with their shallow plots and teeth-cringing acting. however, i did watch one movie last year, it was 'iskul bukol the reunion'. don't ask me why. lol! this year i have no plans of watching any movies but i must admit that from what i see in the trailers, i'm impressed by the graphics and special effects for the movies 'panday' and 'wapakman'. anyway, do enjoy the movie. don't forget the popcorn! cheers!!!

I agree because it would not have won major awards in the recent Film Festival if it was not as good as it seems. Congratulations to all people concerned in the making of Panday!

hello yuna! yeah, i think this one is better than the other panday movies..the effects looks good and casting is also nice... i also like to see the movie so that i can see to myself if its really good since it has been talk of the town now... i haven't watch it yet but for sure i will...and another that i want to watch is vic sotto's 'and darling kong aswang' haha just for fun...and to make me laugh...another one will be 'mano po' well i guess i want to see most of the entries on the film fest, one way of supporting our local movie industry! i remember there's one film fest that my husband & i really watch all the entries! haha its nice & we are satisfied, but that was before, when tickets for movies are not yet that expensive... good day and hope you & your child will have fun watching 'panday'!

I will watch it too. But I will be watching the other entries of the film festival too (save maybe for Wapakman and Nobody But Juan). Yes, the producers and the director were able to upgrade the visual effects of the movie to word class status but it is still lagging behind. Remember that what they copied were effects used in The Mummy and some dragon movies in the early 2000 - that means, lots of things have been improved since then. If you watched Avatar, you will know what I mean. It's really heartening to know though that we are trying to improve the technical aspect of our movies. I really wish though that since we can hardly cope up, the people behind the movie industry should not forget to focus on other things that they can easily change. For the past years, what we have most are movies of recycled plots, trashy artists' performances and/or mediocre stories that the movie goers will get bored even just at the beginning of the movie.
