Today due to the advanced technology, we can eat the fruits in any seasons. Just like we can have watermelon in winter. But do you buy the fruits in a wrong season? In the past I bought the durian in winter. But it tastes bad in my opinion. The durian bought in summer tastes wonderful. Since that, I don't buy fruits in an unsuitable season.

I will sometimes by off season produce, but as you say, it is much more flavorful if you buy it in season. It is also more economical to buy it that way.

I absolutely love grapefruits, now grapefruits are traditionally a summer fruit but I will buy them all year round, however they do vary so much, sometimes they are very pithy, too much white in them other times they are lovely and juicy. I guess it depends on where they are exported from and how long they have been in the supermarket. It is very difficult to guage a grapefruit as to whether it's pithy or fresh and fleshy.

hi youless when we buy fruit here in the US out of season its so expensive that sometimes I just forgo the summer fruit for
the winter fruit instead. If its on sale then yes I will buy it any time of the year. i am in The USA California to be exact and we grow a lot of fruit around Fresno ca. anyway I love fresh fruit anytime of the year. I am not familiar with durian except I know its a fruit and some say they do not like its odor.

Sometimes, if I am realy in the mood for something I will buy it regardless, but if I am just shopping for fruit and something I would usually buy is extremely expensive because it is out of season then I won't buy it. But if I am craving something nothing will stop me from getting it even if I have to pay a bit more.--

Like them nahhhhhh... Its the wrong expression I love them :) And who would not. There is nothing like it. There are different types of Mangos available if u dont know which is which u might buy the wrong qulaity. I sometimes makeit soft by putting pressure on it from all side when its soft you cut a small cut from the upper side and drink it.
Or u may cut it in small pieces and eat it . Or u cut it from the middle in two halves, let one attach with it and seond u can eat like a cup.
I sometimes cut it in small pieces, remove the skin and put it in a small bowl. Then mix spices and eat it. Its unforgetable tasty...

I don't like buy the fruits in a wrong season . In fact , I'm very worried about the fruits that we're now eating. No matter it's in right seasons or the wrong seasoms, they both seam not heathy . We often buy the fruits in supermarket , the outside of the fruit looks good ,but the inside of the fruit is waterless.

i am not a fruit eater. and most of the fruits i eat are from the can. my wife is the one who buys fresh fruits and she buys fruits that she likes no matter if it is in season or not. we ate watermelon before but not in season so it is pale and not sweet. its like the plant was just forced to give birth har har har. it looks just the same but the taste is not the same as the fruit that you buy on the season.

Most out of season fruits have no taste because they are picked green (before they were fully ripe). This is necessary to ensure that they do not spoil before they reach their destination.

I am fortunate to live in a country where the weather permits us to enjoy fruiting throughout the year of different fruits. I don't buy off season fruits. I only buy them when they are in season as off season fruits are usually more expensive and yes, they don't taste right.

Hi youless,
I won't prefer to buy fruits in a wrong season and the reason is that fruits must be very costly. For e.g., if you buy apple and guess the season is not for apple, it will costs double than the usual. The fruit sellers are saying that the fruits are imported and that is the reason of high price. Now the fruits are costly even if the season is right then how can we afford the price in wrong season.

I buy fruits anytime I see them, I don't care if they are grown in nuclear fuel. I like eating fruits all the time so if I see them I'll buy them. I won't spend too much money like $6.00 for strawberries, that's too much.

i youless! No, I never buy fruit out of season. I never see it at the grocery store for one thing. I also know it's not good if it's bought out of season. I was aware that you could have watermelon in the winter but I never see it in the winter at the grocery store. What is durian? I don't think I've ever heard of it. Is it only found in China? Kathy.
