Ice Cream for Christmas?

ice cream - 5-flavor ice cream

At this time of the year, it's very cold in a lot of countries around the world. Probably, having ice cream as part of the Christmas menu is not a priority. We will have lots of ice cream after lunch on Christmas day. I am sure that my nieces and nephews would have a great time with all the ice cream and all the available toppings. I wonder, how many among us here still have ice cream for Christmas. Do you have ice cream as part of your Christmas menu? What specific flavor will you be having?

We don't normally have ice cream at Christmas. But this time of the year stores come up with some incredibly yummy flavors of ice cream that are only seasonal. So before Christmas (I guess I have little time left) I'm going to go to a local store that sells egg nog ice cream. Yummy!

The best thing about Christmas is that stores come up with everything seasonal including ice cream. This makes the items more in demand as we do not see them or buy them on regular days. I really love the seasonal flavors of ice cream especially during this time of the year!

dolce_vita78, It is far too cold for us to have icecream for our Christmas menu, but we do have Christmas pudding and Christmas cakes for after ou main meal. Tamara

Christmas morning my husband usually serves me a cup of black coffee with some kind of ice cream floating in it. Right now we have vanilla ice cream in the fridge. there is a generic brand up here literally called No Name Brand (no kidding) in a big white container with a yellow lid, and their ice cream is BETTER than the stuff at Dairy Queen!!!

Well, since i don't plan on cooking anything for Christmas... i will just buy two ice cream cakes... just in case someone pops in the apartment for Christmas or New Year... my daughter and i usually just spen these two special days at my parents' and in-laws' homes... so it is very impractical for me to cook...

The kids don't seem to mind having ice cream, even if it's snowing outside. Although their favorite right now are popsicles, the lifesaver ones. We don't have people coming over for Christmas eve, so it'll just be family. And since ice cream is a favorite, I may just add it into the menu! I know I could go for pistachio with hot fudge on top myself...

I don't see anything wrong with having ice cream as a part of your Christmas meal... I have vanilla ice cream on top of hot apple pie for desert for Christmas. My sister even has ice cream, and cookie Sundays the kids can make at the party while the adults are talking so they dont bother us. Its fun for them!

We celebrated our Christmas Eve this past weekend and actually did have ice cream. We had a snowman ice cream cake. My mom has been wanting to get an ice cream cake for a few months and we finally had a reasonable reason to have it other than just because.
