How Bad do You Think 2009 was for Commercial Aviation?

I know there was the miracle on the Hudson this past year, but there seems to me there have been quite a number of air mishaps in 2009. As I recall, there was the other incident over the Hudson when a helicopter collided with a plane killing a number of people. The Air France jet lost in the Atlantic. The jet over the Indian Ocean. Also the 2 pilots who overshot their destination.
It could have been worse, but I thought it was bad. What do ou think?

I didn't really notice an increase in traffic accidents. Only seems like more lately, because the past few years 2001 there hasn't been much air traffic. This year has been great for airports. For the first time in years I see planes going overhead all the time. Its a sign the economy is picking up.
