I have a story to share with this discussion. I bought some gifts for my boyfriends side of the family. [those of you who know more about me, know about me struggling with a job, finances, etc.] WELL.. I was expecting it yesterday and instead, got some passport holder that was supposed to be sent to a DIFFERENT chelsea in Washington. I was so upset! I did not know what we were going to do..
Needless to say they are sending my stuff via next day air.:) [after about 3 hours on the phone and 2 hours of emails right before I had to go to work all night]So, my question is... do you trust the internet enough to buy things for christmas online?
If you do, what kind of experiences that stick out in your mind about this subject?
If not, why do you not like to shop online?
Looking forward to the responses.

Hi checkmail: it's always sad when you lose your e-shops i think. That's the risk to buy here on the net but at the same time there are some good prices that you sometimes take the risk, for example my last buy was Britney Spears the singles collection deluxe edition for $70 while it was $100 on other shops. It was a good sale. Thanks for your answer. Hope you are having a nice day. Merry Christmas/ Happy holidays. Take care.

I usually don't shop online. I live in an urban area, and it is a short drive to almost any type of store I need to go to, so I usually just pick things up on the way home from work. I usually like to actually look at things and check out the quality of the products before I buy them. I have started to become more open to buying things online, though, especially if it is something that I do not need immediately, and if it is something that I can get some sort of good discount on by purchasing online. I will probably start to purchase things online more and more in the future, but for right now, I can usually get what I need pretty easily on the way home.
Online shopping can be a really good thing for people who live out in rural areas where they might have to drive an hour or more to the closest town. The possibility of being able to go online and order things, then having them delivered to your home instead of having to drive into town to get them is a good thing to take advantage of. A person who lives long distances from urban areas can usually have things delivered to them for a small shipping fee, and the fees are usually less than what the person would have to pay for gas to drive into town and back. In this situation, it would certainly be more beneficial for them to do most of their shopping online if possible...

I only bought one item online during the holiday season. I bought some food for my gf. the pakeage arrived on time but it was minus one item. I called to conplain and I got the one item back within one week. However most of the inportant stuff did arrive with everthing ealse. the one missing item was one of the smaller items and it was allright with me to wait on it. when I did call to complain I did get promt service. I orders less on the net this year than the last, I bought most of my stuff at the stores.

Yups. I bought some gifts for my children. I bought new Sony Ericsson headset for my boy and new Hanna Montana CD for my girl. They love it very much. I bought it on Ebay. You know, because I can pay through PayPal there. So I think, Ebay is the best place to shopping with your PayPal. I trust buy something on the internet. Because, when I want to buy something, I will check out the seller rating.

hi chelsgrrl69 oh yes I made the error of waiting until yesterday to send for a gift for my roomie for Christmas, and now they say I missed the deadline for getting things sent before christmas but it may still get here before Christmas. that is helpful as I know no more than I did before and I had already spent more on the shipping than the present cost, grrrrrrrrrrr. I trust the internet up to a point but next year will send early early early.

Hello Chels
Yes, I did ALL of my Christmas shopping on Amazon.com this year. The bargains were good, the shipping free, and the delivery so prompt! It was an enjoyable experience.
Happy holidays!

Honeslty speaking I dont feel comfortable about shopping online. As it is sometimes not what you want or not the one that looks like the one that u order.
I have been in a call centre workign for lago and many other products and u know what a lady who was quite senior and knowledgeable was sending gifts on Christma ( a few days were left) by normal delivery. Now when time is short u always do express delivery. so I know what someone went thru and how it happens.

Hi chelsgrrl: Thanks God i have no bad experienc making my shops in the internet and this is probably because I made my shops on Amazon so i think there is no problem with my adress or the shipment, at least since 2006- that was the first time i bought something on the internet i have never had a problem with my e-shops so basically I say i can trust on them on Amazon of course. It's a little bit different on e-bay because you need to contact your buyer, etc. Thanks for telling us your experience. Hope you are having a nice day. Merry Christmas/ Happy holidays. Take care.

I have purchased 1 thing online this year and i know my mom purchases many all the time. But I for one, only buy from trusted and well known sites. Most of them, stores that I already shop inside of too. I have never had any problems this year or in the past. I know my mom has had some things come late before. I guess it has it's good points and bad, like anything else.

Hi chelsgrrl69. No I haven't bought anything online for Christmas this year. Last year I bought some dvd and they came on time fine.
Last Halloween I bought some costumes online, and they almost did not make it. They came the day of Halloween. I already panicked that I bought alternate costumes for the kids the day before.
