Nah, the only book I read from LJ Smith is Vampire Diaries.

Yup, I'm also into science fiction. The more detailed it is, the better. They say that a book version of Avatar is being worked on. I think it would turn out great.

Hey, well i have a lot of favourites and it's simply so hard to choose! Though, currently, i am starting to read, 'sign of the cross', 'the lost throne', 'dance with the dragon' and 'the blue zone'(they're all thrillers) and catch 22 (a funny, satirical classic). Oohh... are manga included as well??

I recently finished reading this random book that I picked up from a freinds yard sale. AZTEC by Peter Jennings. It was awesome. I think that historical fiction is very stimulating. Theorizing about the way people lived based on anthropological research and then weaving a story and humanizing people of extinct cultures is fascinating. I liked Clan of the Cave Bear for the same reason.
I have been studying one book in particular for the last ten months or so: Women Who Run With the Wolves by M.P. Estes. She is a fruedian psychologist and a story teller. She breaks down the female psyche using folk tales as a template for identifying archetypes for the purpose of self discovery. I found it in the gender studies sections at Borders and have recomened it to several people both male and female. A great read for any woman who wants to know more about herself and a must read for any guy who wants to know more about women.

One of my favorite books is "The Kite Runner". Otherwise, it has to be "Wasted: A Memoir" by Marya Hornbaucher. Otherwise I love pretty much any memoir I can get my hands on, mysteries here and there, and a little bit of political non-fiction. I'm pretty much open to all genres, though, although I'm a little iffy about romance (as I usually get bored with those pretty quickly).
