Computer Printer Makes Weird Noises

My computer printer makes these weird noises. That may not seem to be all that unusual but it does it when it is turned off! The first time it happened I thought perhaps it was not actually turned off, but it was. The noise is intermittent without any regularity that I am aware of; it just happens out of the blue and it is really weird! More weird that is happens than how it sounds.

Could it be the ink cartridge carrier resetting itself. You also may want to check the ink cartridge to make sure it isn't loose if this started recently and you hadn't noticed it before. Hey, I can actually answer this question. LOL

Quick someone call Scheng, we need another witness to this moment of expertise! The thing has been off for days. I decided to shut it down when it's not in use to save energy.

Personally, I like Sandra answer. LOL If I am correct though we need to call an expert for a second opinion and to take my temperature. LOL

You, Sandra, Scheng and Trensue should start a writing round robin. Someone could start off with the opening paragraph and then the rest could take turns adding something to the story.

That's weird. I really can't think of what that could be other than an electrically issue. For instance, my alarm clock would be working perfectly fine and then, out of no where, I would look up and that standard 12:00 blinking action would be happening. When it began to loose time more often, I had the bright idea of just trying another outlet for a few days and it never lost time. At that time, I decided to put in a new outlet and the problem was solved. Hope that helps.

That is an interesting idea except that it is plugged into a heavy duty surge strip and as far as I know is the only appliance having these weird surges. Glad you solved your problem though.

That is odd. I have read, though, that to truly save on one's electric bill, it is not enough to just turn things off, but that they should be unplugged as well. This tells me a certain amount of "juice" must still be attached to a thing, such as your printer, even though it is turned off. Unless something is vibrating it, I cannot think of a better explanation...um, unless it's haunted lol.

A certain amount of "juice" or joules is definitely still flowing. I guess it is what allows things to turn right on instead of having to wait for the electricity to flow like fuel in an engine before modern cars (fuel injection) or the way water (especially hot) travels through pipes. I don't know what this thing is doing when it makes that noise but it is very strange.

Spooky or what? My printer's been doing the same all evening! Like you, I thought it was still turned on, but it wasn't. Do you think they're competing to write the story of your early phone call? Or have aliens kidnapped Santa and they're trying to take over the earth through our computers? We have the makings of a very weird story here!

You are hilarious! I don't know what the heck is going on but when it makes that noise like it is about to print something and I know it is turned off it freaks me out!
