hello folks,
India v Australia , odi
Bret lee bowls the first ball of the innings and sachin faces the first ball, it was a no-ball and sachin hits a huge six,
Bret lee re-bowls the first ball, again it was a no-ball, sachin tries to make a single but he was run out this time,
now the score of india is
6-1
0.0 overs
now for how many balls sachin has scored 6 runs ..and the ultimate question is what was his strike rate????

Yup the strike rate of sachin will be 300.If its a no ball still it is added to the tally of balls faced for the batsmen as he can play the ball and in wide it is not added as the ball can not be played by batsmen and hence it is not added. :)

people, better understand, he has not faced a single legal ball and u have to look out the score board
6-1
0.0 overs
and they would never add any illegal balls(wide, no-balls) bowled to both the team and the player.

The balls to the player are added and to the team it is not added.

Your understanding of Cricket Rules needs morepolishing. The question you ask is one that a novice wouldput forward. Any true cricket fan would know the answer to this.
What you can immediately do is go to the cricinfo website and open the score card of any ODI innings in which no balls were bowled. look at the balls faced column in front of the batsmen and add them. You would find that the total exceeds 300 by exactly the same number as the number of no balls bowled.
This will make it clear to you that no balls are added to the tally of balls faced by a batsman.
Thats one reasonwhy the bouncers that used to be called no balls when bowled over the batsmens head are not called wides. Because they are not in the reach of a batsmans strike so cannot be addd to the tally of balls faced by him. Whereas the front foot no ball will be added to the balls faced by the batsman.
I hopethis would make it clear to you that sachins strike rate for the match would be 300 and the team strike rate would be infinite.
