I have a very bad toothache right now. I had a root canal done on this tooth and assumed that this would be the end of the pain. I was so wrong. I have been wanting to get it pulled, but the dentist keep saying that I need to try and save it. I say, there is not very much left to save. I believe it is called a moller. What is the harm in getting a bad tooth pulled?

You're very welcome. If you already have overcrowded teeth, you can avoid shifting by having the opposite tooth extracted as well. They'll still shift, but it won't look uneven at least. Sometimes you'd also need 2 removed on the top though to keep your bite correct. Which then becomes too much unless you really do have a lot of overcrowded teeth, in which case you'd be in an extremely lucky position right now as most people can't have so many teeth removed.

Hi
I think you must ask your dentist to extract it because if it is paining unbearably then whats the point in saving it.
In the meantime, just dab some cotton in clove oil and put it on the aching tooth. That will help releive the pain
Hope that helps!!!!!

Hmmm -
I spent over $1,000 getting a root canal on a troublesome tooth. When it was over, I had a lump in my jaw, and the xrays showed a dark spot at the end of one of the roots. It wasn't painful though, just an annoyance, but we did a repeat.
Still the same thing. We left it alone until it flared up one day, totally swollen and throbbing. They took it out that day.
How long has it been? Maybe they think it didn't have time to heal itself?
If it's been over a week, I'd get a second opinion. If your insurance allows for that.
