Is honor worth dying for?

Honor killing..
Is honor so important to you that you want to or willing to kill somebody to defend that honor?
I don't know but some cultures and belief that if your honor is tarnish the only way to regain that honor is to kill the person who tarnish it.
..
How about you?
Are you willing to defend your honor?
At what extent are you willing to kill for your honor?

Honor is just some man made thing that exists within our minds. Life is universally created, so to die for honor is to value honor over life. I think that is one of the dumbest things that could be done. All life should be cherished to the fullest.

I meant that people need to stop focusing on things that needn't matter, like honor. People should innately have love for all things, thereby making honor useless because one would never dishonor someone they loved. You took what I was saying incorrectly. Whats the point of living? What does honor have to do with your basic existence: nothing. I meant that you should appreciate the good things in life and disregard all the negativity(someone dishonoring your), because if your truly happy and content with yourself then it doesn't matter what someone else does or says.

My statement is one of pure utopia type beliefs, but I do agree with you that most people would be liars without honor(self conscious). Yes I would stand up for the ones I love and the people that love life, but wouldn't that just continue this cycle of hatred by taking revenge upon another?

Then how can love exist without honor? lolz..
Its like I want to spend my whole life with out but I don't want to marry you because It just a waste of time honoring the sacred vows. lol..
Or I love you but I don't believe in honor. So I'm sorry that I beat you up when I'm mad. I'm sorry to lie to you because I don't honor my words.

You know what battered wife heard after their husband beat them up?
I love you honey. And I'm sorry.. And after two days he beat her again and say sorry and I love you after that..What is love without honoring your love?

Its like a young couple totally in love after 20 years gray hair appear and the man left her. "I don't want to spend the rest of my life with an old woman like you!" He love her but when she grow old he left her. Why? sorry I love you but I can't honor my love to you forever.

Honor is still important to me and willing to depend it but not to the extent of killing. I sometimes told myself, well, we can not pleased everybody.

Actually I just realize that we are all not in the same page. Including the first poster until you. Because you all concentrating in the word "honor". Sorry can I use your thread to make some comments to other respondents? Thank you.
I'm not talking of honor alone..
I'm talking about honor killing.
Does anybody know what honor killing means?
Does anybody knows what culture use honor killing"
Does anybody knows what is the essence of honor killing"
Because every body keep on reacting to honor..
But I make a specific topic.."honor killing".
Because other take it as literal. To defend your honor you must kill.
All though they have same meaning..But the essence of honor killing and killing to defend your honor is two different thing.
