I know animals got different diseases from ours but somehow they are similar. The thing that I couldn't understand are wet tails. It is a pest for my hamster. Yesterday one of them died because of wet tail and a while ago, same thing happened to my favorite hamster. Can you share what really wet tails are? One symptom is their bellies get wet and I don't know what can cause it. If that happens, they eventually die

Wet tail is a severe diarrhea hamsters get.. you have to be careful of what you are feeding them and also make sure their bedding is clean. They do have a medication you can give to them - some drops you put in their water. I lost a few hamster to wet tail too. but if you have the medicine on hand and you administer it right away you can help them from getting dehydrated and dying. What kind of foods do you feed them?

I feed them sunflower seeds and sometimes assorted feeds which contains, bird seed, pellets and others. To give them sometimes treats, I give them carrots. What kind of medicine do you give? the new ones are dying but the old ones are still alive and kicking. I don't know why are my new hamsters are dying that way

ohhh now I know why, I fed them one time a cabbage leaf and they ate it all. I think that is the reason they got wet tail. Next time I will not feed them that kind of food :D

yes, I had better luck when I stopped feeding them leafy greens. I think the carrot may be okay but not too much.. but my hamsters ate many things.. and grew nice and big.. they ate chicken, corn on the cob, I even gave them powdered milk, or coffee creamer as a treat- they loved it and Oats -the kind you make oatmeal with. I would just put a small pile in the cage and they would eat it up!

Sorry you lost your pets to the illness, but I think you should research it. At least most illnesses can be treated or prevented which is a good thing, well not so much for the unlucky pet, but at least they are in a better place. Just remember to maintain those things,
