Do you expect that a simple greeting can trigger fond memories?

I unexpectedly received a texted Christmas greeting from one of my very good bosses in my past employment with a bank. We early retired in 1994 and I haven't heard from him for a while, although I regularly get a message from him on Christmas. I totally forgot about him until this morning. It triggered fond memories while working together. He was one boss you would love and he really had endeared to all of us. Looking back, it made me smile and happy and wished I could go back to those times.
Do you have fond memories of your working relationship with your bosses or any other people at work? Do they make you smile as you look back at these good memories?

Hiya moneymaking,
Memories I have a lot and in particular today so I usually put them on hold if they are not good memories and the others I let them have their Day and let it pass.
Not like that all the time but Christmas is more emotianally charged and I think the thing is to just live the moment on Day like today.
I´m fond of many people but I found some were not so fond of me so there you go just life you can´t please everyone referring to no one in particular.
Have a really nice Day.

Hiya MMT,
Yes you can call me that I don´t mind at all. Actually at the beginning I was going to call myself greensleeves21 but I was thinking of Robbie Williams and that´s how it came out.
Yes what you say about emotions is right but it get´s to be complicated sometimes.
It´s not that I don´t like the good memories I think it´s the contact also that you lose with these kind of People too.
I have lost contact with many and have tried to contact them and they don´t respond so I leave it at that.
Have a great Day MMT., Well and tomorrow as well do you celebrate Boxing Day in the U.S.?

LAI, I am in the Philippines. I am not aware of Boxing Day, although we recently celebrated the triumph of our best boxer, Manny Pacquiao. Have you heard of him?

Hi, LAI (can I call you this? you may call me MMT, for short)
True, it is this time of the year that we have lots of memories. This is also the time of the year that we become lonely or sad as we look back at some memories. It is this time that we remember some loved ones who are no longer with us during this time. It is surely not good to linger on these memories. The happier and good memories are worth looking back. We cannot help to revisit them especially when something, like a simple greeting, triggers it.
We try to leave the past behind as we go on with our life's journey but to always remember to keep the good lessons that we have learned from the past.

A good friendship is always sweeter than sugar and so its memories. This can be utilised as stress buster. I very often do it. Some times I think we are like small children. We want to keep the good things with us for ever.

Hi, Meapas. Good friendships last. I know the feeling so well. I have 5 very close friends from my first employment when I was 18 years old. We still keep in touch but one is really the closest. You are right about the stress buster. When I feel down, I call the closest friend and we just talk and have good laughs about very simple and corny things. I know we are lucky to have each other as good friends.

Hi. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. It is a real good feeling to share our blessings especially to those who need them most. It was such a rewarding and gratifying thing to share food last night with the very poor neighbors outside our fence. One was so grateful, he handed a very inexpensive shirt to my house helper.
I am already anxious to read that very important discussion you are telling us.

Hi Gabs,
Yes, it is truly a nice feeling when people remember us. After years of not hearing anything about him or from him, it is really something that relives memories from the past. We are just happy to hear from them again and happy to hear they are all well and safe. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones!

Hi and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
It really brings us back to the good old times as we are reminded of someone because of something that we receive. Receiving greetings or Hellos from people we lost contact or had long heard of is really a nice feeling. It makes us honored or feel good to be remembered and thought of. It does make you smile at the thought of it, doesn't it?

Hi, Letran. Hope you had a good and blessed celebration of Christmas.
I know the feeling. We really miss people whom we ha worked with in the past. We had grown close to them because we see them the most hours of the day, weeks, months and years. It is just sad to think that circumstances cut them short. That is life. Everyone has to move on and progress to the next step of the journey. I know there is always hope for everyone and we need not worry about it.
I would like to share this with you from an online friend: If you pray, don't worry. If you worry, don't pray!
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Have a nice day, too! God bless.

yea i think simple what you meant by wishing someone from past can do awaken your memories with that person and the related linking memories of your life, memories sometimes just comes to you even it meant forgetting the things done in past life, there will always be a time when you simply do have to look forth into yours past and remember the life where we came unto be .

Hi, Fireheart. Yes, that is true. With any simple greeting, that triggers our reminiscing the past. We recall how it was spending time passing life with that person. It is worthwhile remembering good memories rather than bad. Good memories make you smile as you look back.

I have both good memories and not so good memories of previous bosses. Mostly they were good memories, or at least benign, neither good nor bad. The two bosses with whom I did not get along have been deceased for several years. Each had a heart attack, something that I swear I had nothing to do with.

Hi, Srinivas. Yes, even how simple a Hi or Hello is, it really becomes important to us. It is the fact that you are thought of and remembered that gives you a very nice feeling about it. You remember the fond memories you had with him. It lets us wish to go back to the good times. Good friendships never die. They remain in our hearts.
