How come cats are funny when it comes to food?

My cats love eating canned food, and they WON'T STOP!! It's like every 4 hours, they come to me asking for the canned food! They barely eat the dry food and they definitely won't eat my leftover fish and chicken like they used to. They like eating the friskie canned food. It makes me wonder, whats in there that is so good, they'll eat it constantly? I smelled it one time and it was horrible. Any ideas?

Hi Tharker1010!
I't so interesting that you say every 4 hours because I feed my furbaby (Mija) every 4 hours, except during the day when she does most of her napping. Mija has crystals in her urine so I have to feed her prescription wet food. It's pretty expensive, but, I'm not complaining. Her health is first on the list for me. I keep praying that, for her sake, she gets better. It's been about 2 years or so, more or less. I tried giving her the prescription dry food, but, that makes her vomit, so it was back to the wet food.
She is on Hill's Science Diet Prescription food. For variety I buy both chicken and seafood and they both smell great! LOL! I'm jealous because she's probably eating better than me! LOL!
Take care Tharker1010 and Merry Christmas to you!

Wow, thank you for the response, I hope that health gets better. One of my cats has cancer when we brought him, he was sooo sick at first. Plus he had a deep meow that shook neighbors, :) But after a few months, I nursed him back to health, even though he still has cancer, he certainly doesn't look like he has it! So I wish the best for you and your cat Mija and a merry christmas!

God bless you, sweetie, for taking in a cat with cancer and nursing her/him to health! I know she/he loves you so much for it. You are certainly an angel of mercy! Thank you for the well wishes for Mija. She is still sick, but, doing much better!
Have a great New Year's!
Purrs,

cCanned food often gives them more then dry can because its wet for one thing. It's also soft and often easier to eat and diagest then dry can at times. Though you should probly try to exersie some type of control. If you feed them every four hours then you could have an overweight cat on your hands which isn't good.

You're right about that -__-, I should get their eating habits in control. but i know better than to feed them every 4 hours, it's that they COME to me every 4 hours for it.
