I'm mostly on Associated Content. If you are from US, you can try to gain upfront payments and page views too, if the article is not selected for an upfront. It will automatically be pushed for page view bonus. But if you are from other parts of the world besides US, you are not eligible for the upfront but only the page view bonus. Which is quite fair for me, because for every 1000 views, it's $1.50 and the clout level will rise and so does your $1.50. It can rise up till $2.00 I think.. last time I checked. The highest clout level is 10, so I don't know whether its at $2.00 or more.. you can check the FAQ to find out more about this page view bonus scheme.

Dosen't associated content make you give up the rights to your article? I also find writing for them is confusing.

Yes, if it's for upfront payments only. But if you write for page views, the articles are exclusively yours. You can even post other articles uploaded from other websites in which you have submitted. As long as those articles were written from you, it's fine. That's why you can see lots of articles being posted twice by a particular user, for instance.

I know a few websites, though I haven't participated in any of them yet. I prefer to write in my blog. What you can try is you can use Helium, Associated Content, Triond or Hubpages. If you want, you can also use About or ehow. :) These are all trusted sites that pay well.

I write for Demand Studios, Associated Content, Ehow, and Mahalo. There is also Helium, Triond, Textbroker, and Ecopywriters, Some pay upfront, others just page views. My highest earning site is Demand Studios. They pay between $5 and $20 per article. They also pay twice a week and they pay well. :)

If you like writing brief reviews, "Review Stream" is a good place. You can write reviews about a varity of topics, things you come across in your day to day activities, shopping, restaurants, hotels, travel, movies, etc., and get paid when your review submission is accepted and approved. They make payments on time too once you reach the minimum payout amount.

I mostly work on Triond because I have been with this site for a long time. The payment threashold is quite low.

I really like Associated Content. I also like FanStory.com, they have writing contests, but it is a fun site, for creativity and writers. They have contests for poems, creative writing, Novellas, etc.

I like FanStory, too, but you have to pay if you want to contribute something and join in the contests. You can review stuff for free, and read for free, I think.

I write for Bukisa and they pay per impression is comparatively higher than other content writing sites. They accept anything from speech,to article, to video tutorials. They accept anything as long as it is informative.
If you're interested check out my profile page. There's a Bukisa banner there.
Thanks,
