The new bill about penalties for not having insurance looks like it will pass. I wonder how this will affect expats. We are planning to reside outside the US in a few years...will we be forced to pay for insurance we are not even using? What does everyone think?

I think that it would be unreasonable to make ex-pats pay for health insurance if they are not able to use it. I hope that you will enjoy a few years living overseas. I suggest an Internet site called Escape From America with information about working and living overseas might have more information.

Hi, I do read escape from America sometimes. I also like International Living. Of course it's unreasonable for expats to pay, but when is the US government ever reasonable?
