Spend an important holiday alone.

It is Chrismas today. I hope everyone is with their family and enjoying this festival. However, I know there must be some people who have to spend this holiday alone. I am wondering how they feel and what they are going to do. How will they overcome this depressed feeling and cheer themselves up? Most likely I have to spend Spring Festival(in February) alone, which is the most important festival in China. And it is the first time I will not be able to be with my family. I don't feel good about this. So what can I do? Advice pls.

Hey shenfei, maybe you can go to your friend's home to celebrate this moement together. Or if you really have no where to go, have a nice dinner at some restaurant and watch TV maybe together with other guests, hehe. Make a good plan and not to let yourself feel lonely.

Thank you very much. Since I have just moved to this new city, the number of people I know here is so limited. And the only a few people I know will go home far away in Spring Festival. Anyway, I like the idea of going to a restaurant and be with other guests. A good chance for me to know new friends:-)

On my side of the world, it is christmas eve still. At least for two more hours at best. Maybe a little more if I stop to look at the actual time. George would have had to work today. He normally does on christmas eve, and I of course would end up spending it alone. However this year I lucked out. George was home (after wasting an hour only to find out he was being sent home.

shenfei hi its christmas eve here 9pm to be exact I am in California. My son spent the evening with me as I am in a retirement home as we were evicted a year ago when my son
lost his job and things are bad here as he is still out of
work. but he does come to see me so that is good. mysuggestion to you is to find other people who like you will not be able
to be with loved ones and share the holiday together. I have
a roommate here and she is some company for me but its not
like my home was with my son in our two bedroom apartment
but I am hoping this new year will be much better for us.
