My family gave my clothes - apparently they were not happy to see clothes hanging on me at Thanksgiving - so I got 2 pairs of pants - one a 20 and the other a 24 - might be able to get into the latter in just a bit! I also got 3 tops, one my absolute favorite color of blue/violet. I pretty frame from my brother with his picture in it - I'll probably be replacing that!...wonder why those pictures I got at the con have gotten to... a gift card from my mom and niece to target - the target one has lanterns that glow! My sister's played music!

That is very nice of them to get you some clothes. I am so hard to fit. I wish I could have got some clothes to fit me. I am just not built the way most owmen are, I guess. I did get a race track and some viewmaster slides and a candle warmer, socks and panties though. I got some other things also.

I have to have separates to fit right, my waist is so short that the only dresses that ever look right are shifts or empire waists...

Hi, ElicBxn. I only got a gift from my sister-in-law. It was a gift certificate for $5.00 and a $1.00 bill to go to take my family out to McDonald's with. I also had a card that she gave me along with the gift certificate too. I loved this gift. This was the second gift that I got for Christmas. My best friend from high school sent me a greeting card too.

My family does not dare buy me clothes. Mainly because my weight and thus pant/top size fluctuates so often..And they also don't know my size, really. (I usually will say I'm a size 12, but I really wear 14 if I want to actually be able to breathe. .) Clothes is always a good choice, though, so long as they don't overdo it and get you something you won't wear. I remember being a kid during Christmas and the majority of what I'd get would be clothes..That always made me mad! lol! But now it's a different story. What did I got? I got a lot of small things. I got a steering wheel cover, some car accessories, a book I've wanted to read ("The Truth about Diamonds" by Nicole Richie), an electric blanket, $20 worth of scratch-offs (won nothing. Thank you dad. lol.), a 100pk of recordable cds (for mix cds!), and an American Express gift card for $25. Pretty good for my family, who's claim to fame is that they're broker than broke. lol.

That's terrific, lots of good stuff! I got Seasn 2 of The Bing Bang Theory from my brother-in-law. It's actually the only thing I asked for this Christmas. My sister got me a New York Yankee purse/bag. The Yankees are my favorite MLB team, and Derek Jeter is my dream man. I was pretty psyched. They weren't here to celebrate with us because they were at his family's, but they had sent the gifts to us. I also got a gift card to Burger King, gift card to McDonalds, a stocking full of candy that will rot my teeth, and a fruit basket (actually I asked for fruit, along with that DVD). Those were from my parents. And one of my aunts sent me some money. Which I'm going to use to go to the dentist. I need to get my teeth cleaned, and up until she sent me some money, I couldn't afford it.

Well, we were supposed to go to them. But who wants to end up in a ditch somewhere... My dad is like, make the X-ray your teeth just in case you have problems you don't know about. I have absolutely no problem with my teeth and no dental insurance, so I'm thinking, where exactly am I supposed to get the money for X-rays too? Forget about it!

We haven't done Christmas yet. My BF's having so much problem with the kidney stones that we may not get to Christmas for awhile. He hasn't even done his Christmas shopping yet. Right now the biggest and best present I could receive is for my BF to be out of pain from the stones. He wants me to write a letter to Santa so he has an idea of what I want for Christmas. Shoot, I am so worried about him and was more concerned about his Christmas that I have no idea of what I want. (LOL) I will say with pride that I have made the very first quilt in my sewing career. It isn't anything really fancy but I am still very proud of it. I made it for my BF, and it has motorcycle fabric squares through the whole thing. He ought to love it. He has a bedspread now that is about 40 years old and looks terrible. I mentioned a new one to him and he proclaimed he didn't want one of the comforters that are big and fluffy. I'll post a pix of the quilt next week when I get some more batting...I was a half a yard short-darn. So now I am working on his flannel boxers.

The one I am making him is a "nine patch" which is simply squares sewn together. Once I get the one made for my best friend I might do one for myself. Of course that one will be a bit more intricate. Bill's quilt is for a queen bed and I made the squares 6 inches square because of the motorcycle fabric. I would have gotten it sewn together in a day if it hadn't been for the trip to the ER. Now it's getting the rest of the batting so I can finish it and get it wrapped and under the tree. The fabric store gift certificate would be great except two of my favorite fabric stores are over 150 miles away! I visit them when I go to Stanford hospital. Then too, I also have fabric that I kept out of Mom's stash and I also find it at yard sales and thrift shops. What I do need to do is find fabric for curtains for the family room...but that won't be too hard. You got a sewing machine????

you made out like a bandit! and a charm bracelet is such a thoughtful gift - I got one at about 13 and for the longest time I got a charm from each place I went until the bracelet became a deadly weapon and I stopped wearing it because I kept injuring myself!

Christmas Party for orphans - My most memorable moment - entertaining these kids at my house.
PlentyI had a Santa's party for orphans - 80 of them. What better gift can I get than mingling with these wonderful kids. My house reveberated with their sounds - singing, dancing, playing indoor games, excitement that I saw on their faces when they opened their gifts, their stroll in the garden watching with wonder at the different things they saw. Christmas is a time to give and I am grateful that I got an opportunity to do it This is my fifth party for the orphans.

wow! that's so sweet! these days we don't have orphanages any more so that wouldn't work for me, besides, if I weren't so flat broke, I'd given gift cards instead of things I made - on the other hand, everyone likes the stuff I make...

That's great! I do know what you mean about needing a new stove - I got one a couple of years ago to replace the one that lost its "mother board" that I had only gotten in 1999 and both of them made the old one that was replaced in the remodel look like the 1970's junk that it was - had never worked quite right and these have electronic ignitions - but if the power is out, you can still light them!

One sister sent me a gift subscription to Reader's Digest. My friend Juanita gave me a handpainted Christmas ornament in a velvet box. Won't know what my cousin or aunt will gift me with until later today. I gave myself a Pentax by using up "points" from one of the programs I'm in.

I've given stitched ornaments before, but my bro didn't even set up a tree this year or last - so there's not a lot of point in doing ornaments any more

Actually, I stitched an ornament for my cousin (she has like 4 or 5 large Rubbermaid containers of Christmas ornaments that she switches up from year to year), a bookmark for her hubby, and the top of a trinket box for our aunt. I didn't stitch anything for my friend Juanita this year, though.

I’ve had a very fortunate Christmas this year. My husband and I bought ourselves an early present in November when we bought a new LCD TV which we love because we don’t go out much. We couldn’t really afford it but we deserved something special for once! I received two beautiful cat cubbies from my mum and my sister along with some money to spend on myself which is a real treat! Of course the best present this year has been our new kitten Hewy because our beloved Friday passed away; we took Hewy to my parents’ house for Christmas dinner and he had his dinner while we had ours, so far we’ve taken him almost everywhere with us, even fishing!

aww, have you posted a picture/discussion about Hewy? The roomie is putting off a flat screen because - well, for one thing the cats would probably kill it, but also because a flat screen has to be pretty specialize for her to see it. looking forward to seeing a picture of Hewy!

I didn't get many clothes. A few tops and that's it. I always get Stephen Kings new book. He is probably my favorite writer. I also got some stuff for handicapped people. I guess they are not normal Christmas presents, but I have a low income, so I ask for normal stuff that I won't have to buy. I haven't gotten together with my friends, so we haven't exchanged yet.
