John Cena has won this year's Superstar of the Year 2009 match and is now going to be the award winner. Since, he has been in a series of win lose matches this year and except one epic match with Orton, that of an IronMan for thw WWE Title which he won, he has now also lost the wwe title to the first time and raw contender Sheamus through his own fault at TLC payperview. Do you think John Cena deserves to be the Superstar of the Year 2009?And If not, please write who deserves to be the Superstar of the Year 2009 and Why?

2009 was one of the least engaging years in terms of entertainment. It just seemed like the same old same old. The revolving door of John Cena/Randy Orton/Triple H on RAW, with occasional guest appearances from Batista and Shawn Michaels tended to be a bit tedious. With that in mind, Cena does seem like the best choice to be Superstar of the Year, by default. Everyone else just falls short. I think if Edge had not gotten hurt, he would have been a good candidate as he was on fire for the first part of the year with great matches and entertaining storylines. Still, Cena is the best choice, maybe, maybe you could make a case for Randy Orton, but that's about it.

I think the same that after John Cena, mostly Randy Orton would have been the second contender for this award as after returning from injury, Randy Orton was relentless in the early part of the year and everytime John Cena or HHH would win the championship back, he would very easily take it away from them. But at the latter part of the year, I think just the epic ironman match loss to John Cena for the WWE Title and the fued with Kofi Kingston let to his downfall at the end of the year. Thanks for the Response n Happy Mylotting!!

As anyhow WWE is rigged, they will look for popularity to decide on the Superstar of the year. And no doubt John Cena is one of their most popular stars and one who has a long future in front of him. In fact, to me it is no surprise that he is the superstar of the year as I had been expecting him to win that prize anyhow.
Cheers!

Yeah, I think WWE might have given him something and also to the CenaNation fans to cheer about since the storyline demanded him to lose his WWE title to Sheamus. Thanks for the Response n Happy Mylotting!!

does the guy above me know its just wwe or does he think its everyone in sport? Anyway I think these awards mean nothing if im honest and it doesnt contribute to anything. Whats the point of bieng WWE Superstar of the year if you arent the WWE Champion. It was a good way of getting viewers behind a 3 hour show as they did have big matches with Punk vs Cena Orton vs Undertaker and Orton vs Cena so in some ways its good they did it. Its no lie that WWE need to change coming off the afterburn of the first week of the new monday night war and i do think having an awards show might not be the best thing for the company. I went off topic abit so to answer your question NO i think Orton should have had it since he was in the limelight all year round.

Well I think that is kind of dumb to see a wrestler as superstar of the year as there are plenty of better superstars in other sports. But for another award, Tiger Woods gets the best "player" of the year lol. He won quite a few tournaments and did some other things as well.
