I recently bought a Guitar from the Philippines. I play it for some time daily, but it is absolutely gross. I wish I had known how to strum it and produce music.
Can you really suggest me some basi tips as from i should start, apart from going to a music class? What are the basic things I need to take care of while I start? How do I take good care of my Guitar?
Your suggestions please. BTW do you play this wonderful thing called Guitar?

hello bodhi,
how was your trip? how long was your stay in the philippines? i remember you telling me you will be staying in laguna. i hope you enjoyed it a lot.
cebu has the best makers of guitar. it makes me smile imagining you trying to play it though when you said now that you dont know how. there are beginner's reading materials for you to practice on and how to hold the strings the first time. i used to have it. now i have memorized them and am happy to say i can strum the guitar a little and accompany a singer singing some songs that i know, not expertly though.
first look for that guitar notes on how to hold the strings. you have to be patient and really keen on learning to enjoy the guitar. then practice what u have learned on a song. then eventually you will enjoy it.
next time when you come to the philippines, i hope you can strum it properly already.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Ann,
My trip to the Philippines was amazing. I enjoyed a lot. I was at manila. I had been to the Oceanarium on a Sunday and I just loved it there. I have also seen the biggest mall there, the mall of asia.
I am in absoloute love with your country. It is so welcoming, warm and thepeople are amazing there. Everybody seems to accept me the way I am. Every time, every day was even more beautiful then the previous.
I did forget to buy the book to learn guitar, I will certainly now. And I shall learn how to stum it, thats for sure. My Filipino friends there knew how to play it and I wish i could play atleast something like them.
Ah! it was an altogether different story when I went to the store to get a guitar, I will write about it and share with you.
Good to know that you play guitar, I believe it must be a very enthralling experience.
Wish you a Great and the Happiest year ahead!
Bodhi

When one of my friends suggested that you cannot walk and see the entire mall in 03 consecutive days, then I surely made it a point to see the thing. Aw! it is huge, gigantic and very beautiful. You know that there is an ice skating joint there.
A must see my friend.

I used to, but I think I was far too young and impatient to keep it up.
I used to watch rockstars jamming it out on stage, pulling off sick riffs and solos, and I always thought "it can't be too hard." Of course, me being 11, I was VERY naive, and realised that it was HARD AS HELL!
All the chords, minors and majors confused me the most. However, despite giving it up, I still managed to get a place in a junior school orchestra presentation. I played "Jingle Bells" using the two-string finger-strum method (cannot remember the actual term, but you get the gist)

I am sorry dear friend that it took me so much time to write you back. But I am pretty determined to learn it and play this thing beautifully. The minor and major things do confuse me but I shall master it.
thanks a lot for sharing.

That happens to be my first love. I love tabla so very much! But I guess I will not be able to play it. It requires a lot of dedication and patience to learn it.
Good for you.
