Cristiano Ronaldo is more complete than Messi, but better?

This debate can never be resolved. Both players are alike and yet so different. Ronaldo has all the footwork and fast sprints and can make fool of any defence and i think he is truely dedicated to football. Do you know that when real madrid signed ronaldo kaka and benzema.... all were holidaying.... but ronaldo canceled his holidays and reached the first days training 2 hours early... thats something that shows real dedication. He has amazing shot power and both foots alike.... magical player... On the other hand messi is fast and real good foot control. have you ever noticed that when he runs with the ball his foot is always near the ball... never once he takes a big touch that is something really difficult to do..... that is why he able to find small gaps between defenders.......majestic on his own levels.... But if you ask me i'll rate ronaldo more cause he left manchester united and took the real madrid challenge. he had proved himself in the premier league and now in la liga.... Messi has been at barcelona all his life. messi's real test will come when he changes the club and plays there like he plays at barcelona.....

Messi to me is a true footballer, compares to Ronaldo whose only know to run with the ball, apart from that?? NADA...(taller-YES) I guess footballer like Ronaldo depends highly on physical ability alone..which can be done by many as long as he's physically fit. so my votes goes to Messi :)

In today's football, skill is not enough, entertainment is not enough, there are many other factors that make up a complete player. If we consider the "other factors" beyond skill and entertainment, Lionel Messi will always rate better than Ronaldo. Beyond this, Messi is a more hardworking player who rarely try to deceive match officials to award undeserved free kicks, etc. against the opposing team. There is no controversy that Lionel Messi is the best player today, even Christiano Ronaldo will agree to this. I'm waiting for the day another African player will rise to be the world's best player. It's long overdue to produce another George Weah.

both messi and ronaldo are great football players. I'm agree with you that ronaldo is more complete, he can kick with both feet, fast and a lot ball tricks but the problem with ronaldo is his mental. His mental is not as strong as messi. In other words, ronaldo is a spoiled boy and messi is a hard worker. I'm myself like ronaldo but looking to the fact and messi contribution for barcelona this year with 6 titles of champion, i vote is to messi as the best player in the world.

As for me i will say that the two of them are endowed with different qualities and if you can believe with me the fingers are not equal so human being cannot be the same in equal way. Messi is blessed with skills, speed, vibrant, and always make an impact when it comes to big matches. Having won many title both for home and club sides like FIFA U20 and Olympics Gold Medal both for his country and Champions League, FIFA world cup, League etc for his club........... Ronaldo impact is limited to his club and not to his country he belong and you will agree with me that he has never won any major title for his country even at youth level........ So Messi is more complete than Ronaldo.

For sure Messi is the best player. Yesterday against Arsenal I saw one of the best player ever, better than Maradona, van Basten, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo, Baggio, etc... To me, only the best Ronaldinho is still unbeatable.

Hi to all...... Definitely, Lionel Messi is far better player than Cristiano Ronaldo.... Ronaldo show a lot of skills in the pitch to entertain the fans..... But Messi does not show much skills.... What Messi do is magic and he does it for the team...... Also, Ronaldo has always failed in big matches..... He has never played to his potential in big matches.... But Messi performs well in big matches too..... A great example is last year's UEFA Champions League final between FC Barcelona and Manchester United........ HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!!!!!! I have been following CR since he controversially replaced David Beckham and the lucky number 7. He is fast, dribbler & runner, excellent free kick taker. Two things he doesn't have, loyalty (to MU) & enough imagination to control the game.

Christano Ronaldo sucks! sorry but Messi wins it for me anyday. Ronaldo is a showoff, he's greedy and a massive cheater. Is everyone forgetting how much he actually cheats. Every tackle on him he claims for a foul, blatantly dives and pretends to be injured. yup, i have zero respect for him. My theory is that he is a bad loser and so every time he gets tackled it must be a foul because he's such and awesomely good player.....not :)

Well i guess you are a big christiano ronaldo fan... Good for you. If you ask me i personally feel messi is a more complete footballer than ronaldo. Messi like christiano can also kick the ball in both legs and has the best control of football than ronaldo. Thats why he is voted Player of the year award. Ronaldo is equally good but i rate messi as one step higher than ronaldo.
