I think so too. Friendster used to be very popular among my classmates during my college days and then, suddenly other networking sites came up and they simply came up one after another.
Anyway, I still do try to visit the site every now and then since I still do have friends who use that more than the other networking sites around and I think they find it more easy compared to the new ones.

Sometimes, it seems that friendster is trying to catch up by providing features that other networking sites have been providing for a long time (^_^")
The best part that I thought was good about friendster before was the testimonials but, they later turned it into comments as well so.. that kind'a dragged it down a little for me.. (-_-")

I don't know anybody who uses Friendster anymore. I was never very into it, but I had a few "real-life" friends who used it, so I became their friend there, too. I haven't even logged into it in ages.
Maybe it is more popular in your country, though. Every so often, I receive a friend request from someone I don't know, and when I go to look, often they are from the Phillipines. I don't know why that is? Maybe there are simply more users there, or maybe there it is viewed more as a way to meet people, rather than keep in touch with friends? I always wondered about that.
