Yes, I did work at Christmas night, because my part - time manager required us to show up at work tonight at the restaurant. You couldn't believe, there were only 2 stores open at the whole shopping center; one is a Jewish grocery store, another one is the restaurant I work for at the weekend. There were only a couple of regular customers come in and visit and dine in. Other than that, we just stand around, or play with our cell phone. What a long night. I am glad that was over. But hey, some extra money won't hurt, but not much tips for tonight though.
On mylot, some people discuss about they work at Christmas night too. So, how was your nights going?

I worked Christmas day but did so by choice. It wasn't much work to be honest, and I really enjoyed it. I sit with a family member and get paid by the county so my job is easy other then cleaning and even that is easy. I could have taken both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off but didn't because it's extra money, and my husband and I are trying to a car and then a house so the money helps.

Well, understandable. I would do the same, if I were you in the same situation. I understand that many people still need a job to pass their difficult time right now. Some extra money would help a lot. Especially during the holiday seasons. I would want to work extra too.

Money is a necessity, even though it can cause people to be greedy. Sad that we can't barter but privately.

Well I am sorry to hear that their are still employers who let their employees work even on the christmas day. It is supposed to be a time to be with our loved ones, enjoying the holiday with a lot of funs in many ways. However I understand your situation because no one would want to lost a job.
