...Hi again yugasini, Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions. I didn't get my license until I was in my twenties, all my friends and relatives had been dring for years. But I didn't care, I did not want to get out there with people driving any way they wanted to, which is what is still goung on. But I finally got my license. You may just live longer if you are not out driving and wind up in the wrong place at the wrong time. As long as you can get to where you need to go, I would not worry about driving a car. Thanks again. Take care.

...Hi there yugasini, Thanks so much for sharing with us. Please explain to me what a two wheeler and a four wheeler are? Is the two wheeler like an electric or motorized scooter like a Moped? And is the four wheeler much like an automobile?
I find that interesting. Also if you lost your license, would they not replace it or do you have to take another test or something? Thank you for answering if you would. Take care.

Before I got my license, I practiced a bit around secluded areas as well as neighborhoods. I really only practiced to get my license because I knew I was going to need it soon in the future. I didn't practice as much as I was suppose to but I still managed to pass. I passed on the first time. I was really happy when I got it and it felt so surreal because it took almost a year for me to get it. Once it was over, I didn't drive as much as I was suppose to, but now since I'm in college and all, I drive to school and back and sometimes I go out with my friends so I'm pretty use to driving now.

...Hi ishme3nowz, It certainly sounds as if you and driving got along well. You passed your test the first time out. Wow! That's very good for a young driver, or really even an older driver. My nerves got in the way of my passing my driving test. I did not practice too long, like you I went out to empty places like school yards on the weekends and drove around in the parking lots. I think that we really learn to drive after we get our license, because we are thrown into situations which we would not have possibly been in, when we were practicing, learning how to drive. Take care. Have a Happy New Year.

...Hi balabrahmam, You were very, very smart to practice before going to take the test. My cousin helped me to learn to drive and she did a pretty good job. I was very nervous when I went to take my driving test, we got in the car, the tester and I, and I started to drive, but I had not taken the emergency brake off. Now that I think about it, I am wondering why it was on in the first place, unless that was a part of the test as well, I don't remember. Needless to say I failed, I think I failed the second time and passed the third time finally. Taking a driving test flustered me to the max. Take care, thanks for responding. Happy New Year.

I wouldn't say that I drove a lot, but I did drive for about a year before going for my license. I passed on the first try too...but only because there wasn't any parallel parking on the test. Otherwise who knows how many tries it would have taken because I was lousy at it! LOL
Happy mylotting!

...Hi sacmom, You bring a smile to my face because that is what happened on my second try. My parallel parking left quite a bit to be desired. So I can understnd what you say. The fact that you drove for a decent period of time, before your test, helped when you went to take the test, which was good. I didn't drive as much before hand and it took three tries to get that little license. Thanks so much for sharing. Take care. Have a Happy New Year.

....Hi there sonusd, You started driving at a very young age. Were your legs even long enough to reach the gas pedal? That's amazing that you could drive a car at
at the age of fourteen. I don't think I was even thinking of riding in car with friends at age fourteen, you were a brave young person. Your point is well taken about the judgment when you are very young. You need to be aware of what an automobile is capable of, especially where speed is involved. Thanks for an interesting comment. Take care. Happy New Year.

....Hi there multicolored, Welcome to the club, it's a great place to hang out. It took me three times to pass my test for my license. The first time I could not park
the car correctly, I believe, the second time I had the emergency brake on trying to drive the car. That was embarrassing, so the third tine I went, I was able to do everything right and I passed. It was nerve racking. Good that we kept trying. Thanks for your reply, take care.

...Hi MsTickle, You have been a busy bee. You did very well passing your test to get your license on the first try. Not a whole lot of people are able to do that, me included. My nerves took over and it took me three tries before I finally passed. I was certainly glad I passed. Good that your license is clean. That's quite important. Thanks so much for your response, take good care.

In my state in order for a teenager to get a liscence they have to either take drivers education or complete fifty logged hours of driving time with a liscenced driver and submit those hours or certificate of successful completion of drivers ed when they go to do the written test and driving evaluation. The task of teaching me to drive fell to my mom, who needless to say was extremly anxious and fearful. She didn't want to pay for driver's ed, and she wouldn't give me a ride to work at a pizza place that said they would hire me. So I was out of luck, I had to do the fifty hours with a liscenced driver. She was too afraid to let me work on my driving skills with anyone but her. So after one three mile an hour circut around and empty parking lot, she suggested that we make up the dates and times and submit them. Now I had friends who also did the fifty hours but thier parents actually taught them how to drive.
So I submit the hours and passed the written test. But then guess what? I had to take a driving test as well. I couldn't even park straight in a stall, so I didn't do so well. Five tries later I got my liscence. I also had to retake the written test after failing the driving portion twice. In the end when you factor in the cost for taking all those tests and the subsequent accidents and insurance rate hikes which I was never able to pay for because my mom would punish me by taking away my car so I lost several jobs as well, it would have been smart to just take driver's ed. I am proud to say that I am now a good driver and have not been in any fender benders or destroyed any property in several years.

...Hi there tawny, Well thanks for sharing. I would agree with you that after all you went through, the time, the effort, the money, the agravation of failing the driving portion. It would have been a better idea to take the driver's ed course.
You need to practice the physical driving part to be able to pass that section. I couldn't parallel park during my test and failed as well. Thanks again for your response. Take good care.

I didnt learn anything at all before I toom my drivers test.
Of course I took the classes but most people nowadays sneak and drive without permission from their friends. My brother got to drive with his friends car wayyy before he took the classes. My parents thought he was a better drive that time. Of course! He drove before I got to. I didn't get previous experience.
For the permit test, I had to retake it 3 times. Same with my drivers test. I took it 2 times at Pleasonton because I heard it was easier there. No. It wasn't. The roads were definitely easier, but the teachers were definitely harder at students not in that same area. That teacher was really harsh and critical about every little move. Sometimes he fails people for unnecessary reasons. When I took it for my last chance before I have to wait a long time for retakes, I took it at my home area which. I passed it so quick. The teacher was super nice and the roads were not too difficult. I couldnt tell you how excited I was to hear that I passed. haha It took me 3 times to pass but it was a good feeling to pass finally that I didn't care how many times I had to retake it.

..Hi AaronYLeung, You make me laugh as you describe some of the things you went through to get your license. We shared the same experience in a way. I left the emergency brake on the first time I tried to get my license. The second time I did not parallel park correctly, the front was stickng out, while the back of the car was in. The third time my nerves calmed down and I passed. Like you I was thrilled that I finally passed. Thank you for your interesting comment, I enoyed reading it. Take care. Happy New Year to you and your family.
