I have not seen the whole movie but I saw enough of it to tell it is a good movie because when we went to my brothers house for Christmas he was showing off his new high definition television with blue ray and he used that movie to show how clear the picture was,and I definitely want to see all the movie because everyone says it is an awesome movie, and it would be cool if they made a sequel to the movie because sequels are always awesome.

Some sequels are good, some are not. I think you will like the movie because its not conventional alien stuff. Enjoy.

That is true there have been some sequels that have totally sucked, and I like movies that are not conventional and have a different look to them, because the same ol same ol gets boring fast, have you seen the movie 2012 it was pretty good, not you conventional end of the world movie, you might like it if you have not seen it,so I would recommend checking it out.

I will have to see it now that it is on DVD. I did not see it but I heard conflicting thoughts about it. My husband and a couple of our friends saw it and said it was pretty boring up until the end, then there was a little excitement, however, my son and my brother in law loved it. So I guess I really need to see this so I can make up my mind for myslef.

Its not like any "alien" movie I've seen because it doesn't go along the same lines.

I have heard about that movie, but i din watch it.. haha =D I read about the reviews, and it's supposed to be good?? hehe ^_^
BUt anyway, movies in these times and days, are all kinda similiar, and so it does not hurt to miss out on them.. haha =D ALso, before this movie, there are a couple of movies, with the number 9 in it too, and i'm wondering, if they are capitalising on the popularity of the number, back then?? haha =D

Don't know about the number nine. I do know that the guy who wrote 8mm also wrote the movie Seven.

I was jst talking abou this film a few days ago to somebody and saying how it was one of my favourite films of the year simply because it had been better than I had expected and also different to what I thought it was going to be - I just thought it was going to be an average alient film but, I like how they gave them feelings and also that the focus was actually on the guy and not the aliens all the time!

I know, it was different, not like any alien movie I've ever seen.

I liked the movie but on the ending part only. It was because how the humans treated the aliens. It's so sad how the people nudge them to one side and not try to help them get back. The part I liked the most was the part where the transforming guy helped the father and son to get back to their planet. Im referring to the all heartedly helping them part not the part where he only wanted to help them to make him better. I just loved the scene where the aliens promised that they would be back for him in three years.

Yes, there was a human aspect to it that was different. When Christopher said he would be back in three years that set up the sequel.

I was going to see it but then my daughter (who seems to have the same tastes as I do in movies) absolutely did not like it. She said it was way too political for her plus, like you, it wasn't anything she thought it would be either. Of course, perhaps I will still rent the DVD and find out for myself since I do love Sci-Fi and Fantasy stuff.

It was cool, I didn't see anything political, of course I don't care about that stuff so unless I'm looking for it I don't see it.

I actually saw it in the theater and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was very different than most movies, which is a good thing because now a days, most movies are not good at all. I thought it was suspenseful, and I really loved the plot. I liked that it was deeper than just another alien action flick, it was more than that. It combined different elements that made it a great movie. I hope they make a sequel, I would definitely see it, in the theaters too.
