If we could reduce the gap between rich and poor people, I think we would all be better off as people. It would make us more equel, but unfournatally the world doesn't work that way. Though I wish some of the more rich people knew what the poor people went through. I think that's why I liked that short series secret millinare. It gave some rich people an idea what it's like being poor working class.

Hi kaylachan: I know what you meant but at the same time it's possible to make a difference. I know, it could sound a little bit idealistic, but if our congressmen care more for these people they could create important laws that could help them to find new oportunities to work. Thanks for your answer. Hope you are having a nice time. Merry Christnas/ Happy Holidays. Take care.

The gap is huge reminds me of the Pareto principle. 80 percent of a country's wealth is owned by 20 percent of the people.
True in all respects.

There will be a less number of rich people towards large number of poor people in almost any country.Mostly labors end as labors alone as they are mechanical and cannot think about something parallel. And rich people can pass on all their ideas to their sons and daughters and so they easily pick up things. The government of any country will want to reduce this gap but the rich people who backs the government will not allow this to happen. They want people to be poor for them to stay rich.Only a bold leader can reduce the gap.

well theres various reasons why there is a gap between the rich and poor,
I don't class myself as rich though compared to some of my friends I guess I am in comparision. Though I am sensible with my money where as some of my friends live well outside of their means and have huge credit card bills, huge mortages and no spare cash as they try and live larger than what they can afford.
The gap always has to be there as if we all had the same financial status wheres the motivation to make things better. I'll prob be unpoplular here.
I was born in a council estate with absolutely nothing at all, yet being in this situation spurred me on and I vowed I would never be in that situation again and nor will my kids, I have had my own business now for over 10 years theres no better motivation.
So there is a number of reasons why the gap exists and in certain circumstances its a good thing though I also agree that everybody should have enough to feed them and their family and have a decent life once the financial level drops below that then something must be done aslong as the person below the poverty line is doing all he/she can do aswell.
As I don't agree with some people who just don't want to work and expects the rest of us to bail them out. But people who are really trying to find work and people who say can't work then thats fair enough we need to help these people.

Hi concise: I think that no matter what kind of economic is there in your country, every government have the objective to reduce poverty because that's not the ideal state a human should be. When you are poor you feel you can not defend yourself or the ones you love, you have to suffer hungry, you don't have the same oportunities the other people have and you'll have to suffer humiliations from certain persons. In general i think the governement should work to reduce the gap between poor and rich. Thanks for asking me this question. It sound very political but at the same time i like it. Hope you are having a nice time. Merry Christnas/ Happy Holidays. Take care.

The gap between rich and poor people here in our country is very big. But the ratio is imbalance. The number of poor people is higher than the number of rich people here. Well, it's really sad to know that there are many people suffering from poverty, from hunger and from pain wherein some other people are just wasting their money for nonsense things. The economy here in our country is getting poorer and poorer as well. The government didn't even do something to help those people who are in need. I belong to a middle class family. We are not rich and we are not poor as well. I am just sad every time I see people along the street are begging for food and money. I hope someday, people will become equal-no more rich and no more poor.

The only difference between the poor and the rich is their financial status in the society. When it comes to rights, and social standing both should be treated equal and look upon as both humans. We all deserve to be respected and loved regardless of our wealth or condition.
