What is VK social Networking all about Earning ?

I have seen that people are really joining VK social Networking like crazy . I have not joined yet , but now I am curious that what in the sense of earning is this site. Are there any good opportunities to earn there . Social Networking is okay , we can be satisfied with Facebook and Orkut or myspace . So any one who is a member there can shed some light on the working of the website .

Well...vk social networking has a grt referral contest...you get laptops and ipods and phones if you have a long list of referrals...I guess that is y everyone is trying to refer them...

Oh really thats a good thing. I really wondered about this thing of people joining this site at large. Actually at the Home Page of the site nothing is clear , that what are we going to see inside so I was really confused about that. Thanks for your informative response.
