For me personally World War 2 is my favorite to study in modern history. Even though it was such a terrible war, I still find the history of the time most captivating, and I seem to know the most about it. I also like the romantic aspect of it where u always see the USS dances with two sweethearts for the last time before they go off to war. If I had to choose out of all history I think I would choose Egypt. I can study Egypt for hours without getting bored. just the whole mysterious, cultural, heiroglyphics aspect of it is really cool to me. So, what is your favorite time period or culture to study in history? Or perhaps do you not have one at all because you dislike history?

I am really into the anthropological findings related to prehistory. I love historical fiction written around the time period encompasing the begginings of mankind as a species. Piers Anthony wrote a really good one called The Isle of Women. It is a lovestory where in the characters evolve from cave people to pre-dark age society as the book goes on. I am also very intersted in the literal findings from archeologists and anthropologists. These are the guys who if they study human evolution figure out how man made stone tools, adl adls, when they made those technological jumps. There is also this guy, Tom Brown Jr. He is a survivalist teacher in south carolina. He has written several books about how to survive in the wild. He was taught back in the sixties as a child by one of the last elders from a tribe of Lakota Souix how to live off of the land. And it's crazy because a lot of the techniques he learned were old knowledge that had been passed down for generations among native americans. And they directly corelate with scientific findings on how anicent man made his way in the world.

wow, tats really cool how he got the chance to be taught by the last of the Sioux tribe. It's amazing how much the native americans have to teach us about nature, it's amazing how much you can do with it. hmm tats a very interesting lovestory :)

I've always liked Ancient history- particularly B.C. histories of Greec, Egypt and Asia. Throughout my years in school, I've always found American histry really boring- US History and Math were my least favorite subjects...beside P.E. lol. I guess I liked studying ways of life rather than government, which US Histrot seemed to be all about. w

Yes I know exactly what you mean. US history seems soo boring. it seems like most of it is just politics and memorizing battles. you rarely learn about the time period, and how life was like. The teacher also plays a huge part I must say. Like I personally dislike learning about politics, but this year Im taking an american citizenship class, which u learn how gov works, so i didnt want to take it. But the teacher who teaches it makes the class interesting and he mostly teaches, and explains things, we rarely use the book. I wiss more teachers were like that.

I really like reading about the Cold war Era. I find that alot of the issues and conflicts of these times that spill over into the politics of today.

The Civil War time period is always very interesting to study. I find that when I think I know everything about it, I'm always learning what seems like something new. Such a pivotal part in American history. Also, the two World Wars are both extremely interesting to me. Basically, any period that had a major war is always interesting. War is not something that people like to live through but it can be very interesting to study afterward. Look at what happened in hindsight.

Hi, wigima5,seems like we have the same interest. I obviously like history especially WW2. Notice my ID name "stukapilot" and feel sth similar? Although it's really the catastrophic havoc in human's civilization, but it also has its charming which worth studying, right? Well, what's your focus about WW2? I concentrate in Luftwaffe and the weaponry. And do you know? I searched lots of infos and wrote an article about American war poster and propaganda during the WW2 and published on the magazine. It's rather a sideline subject in the histroy of WW2 but have abundant content to explore. Remeber that famous poster: Uncle Sam staring and pointing at u with the inspirative words "I need your skills in a war job".

I think my favorite is middle ages, which is basically 5th to 16th century European history. I like learning about everything from the foods they ate and clothes they wore to the royalty of the time.

I enjoy studying WWII history, mainly because my husband lived through it, so I have witness testimony. My favourite historical period, though, is Tudor history. I specialise in Shakespeare, and I'm also really intrigued by the Wars of the Roses, and what went into that.

Just like you, I also like things with history. For me, reading the things about the past lives to make us rich information about past lives. historical information that I like is the history of nation Indonesian struggle against the occupiers and the developing phase of Indonesian history. But for some things, sometimes I also like the history nation of Indonesia in the century BC

Greetings wigima5 World War II is my favorite too. My dad served as a Merchant Marine. I can see the mighty hand of God shaping the outcome of the war, which, in a way, spurred the re-establishment of Israel as a nation once again as prophecied by Isaiah. Though all war is horrible, and though it happened before I was born, I can just about sense within me how the USA pulled together to bring about victory. Now, when I was in High School and College, I just did not like the time period of the American Revolution. Now I'm interested, and intersted in most time periods of history. Quite fascinating. When I was in RCC school a nun once said, "History is HIS story." Aye, the mighty hand of God can be seen throughout history. There are some, er, interesting times to come.
