yes i often catch cold but i never take any medicine for it. i just drink plenty of water and blow my nose a lot to get rid of the virus/bacteria. in about 1 week it usually goes away. i have had colds/flu that lasted for a month or longer and they were bad but i still never took any medicine.i don't like taking medicines because they have side effects and most of them are not affective against cold/flu anyway.

Speaking of the Flu, icesmile. I had the Flu on Christmas Day. I was sick the day before this day too. I just heated me some water in my plastic cup in the microwave. And I added some Theraflu powder to my water. I then added some sugar in it. I put lemons in it. And the next day, I added limes in it this time. It took my Flu completely away in two days. I did not had the Fever but I felt very weak in my body. This usually helps me out when I have the Flu. I feel so much better now. I caught the Flu in October too. I did not have any Theraflu then, but I did take some medicine for it. Teas that are very hot are usually the best relief from the flu Virus. And Theraflu works great. It always takes away the Flu virus from my body.

I have a cold right now. I am getting over it. I haven't had the flu in years. A Serbian friend of ours reccomended a recipe for hot Slivovitz. sometimes I drink it cold, other times I'll use his recipe and mix the Slivovitz with caramelized sugar and some hot water, and that really helps.

My family just does the small things to try and avoid the flu and so far this year we have been lucky enough not to catch anything. we got our flu shots as well as the H1N1 shot and then we make sure that we wash or hands, cover our coughs and sneezes and I also disinfect the house a couple of times a week. We always make sure there is medicine in the house because you never know when a sickness will hit especially in the winter...

I have to say I don't remember the last time I was sick, which is a good thing. However, when I do get sick I drink plenty of fluids and especially tea with lemon. I also will take nyquil and wear pjs, robe and covers to try and sweat the fever out of me. Most of the times it works. I also stay in bed and get plenty of rest.

dear ice,
i wish to experience winter.
here in our country there are only two seasons: the dry which is summer and the rainy seasons. but weather changes so fast here, like it could be soaring hot during midday and then a sudden downpour of rain at night. and that means an invitation to colds.
usually when i have it, am advised to take a lot of liquid and vitamin c. if fever occurs, then an aspirin or paracetamol. and everything gets fine again.
