I have read before that there will be a biopic for Freddie Mercury. I can't seem to find anything about it now. I think it was Johnny Depp that was rumored to play as the Queen frontman, in my opinion he would really nail the role. He proved he could sing in Sweeney Todd, he and Freddie seem to share the same facial features, all that's needed is a way to make his teeth look like Freddie's. Who else do you think can give justice playing the legendary Mercury?

That would be great. Ive always been a big fan of Freddie. For me, he is the greatest gay of all time. Sasha Baron Cohen would be a nice choice. Or maybe the controversial Adam Lambert can do it for the sake of musicality.

Just because he's such an excellent actor and always so dedicated to his roles: Christian Bale. I don't know if he can sing, but I know if it's anywhere within his grasp, he'd learn, for the sake of the role. I think he'd do really well in this role.

Freddie Mercury would be a great subject for a biopic, but I don't think I'd hold my breath waiting for it. Rumors about this project have been floating the internet for probably 5 years or more, and just about every dark-haired actor capable of growing a moustache seems to have been suggested for the lead at some point.
For me personally, I almost think that an unknown would be a better choice to play Mercury (and surely there's an unknown out there with the talent to pull it off). No matter who is cast, there's going to be tons of speculation to the effect "Can he pull it off?" Not to mention, tons of critics that will decide before ever seeing the movie that there's no way it can be done. With an unknown, at least you don't have pre-release chatter along the lines of "There's no way he can play Mercury, didn't you see him in XYZ?"
