Is New Year Eve important to you? What do you usually do? How do you celebrate?. For me new year eve is just like any other day. I usually work this day, and do not celebrate much. I have a glas of wine, watch a nice movie. I call my mom and dad and wish them happy new year. I feel, that it is just another day as all the other s the rest of the year. I do not do any special thing or go to friends as I work. This year it so happen to be I have the day of. So this new years eve will be different, as I will spend the day and night at home.

wow, well, quit smoking Is probably highest wish on the list for new years promises. How about reducing your smoking habbits instead, that make it easier. I do so, and I can have one package in one week now...soon I have had reduced the very last need of it...good luck and happy new year.

I don't think I've ever had a New Year's Eve go the same way as the year before. Every year it's different. It's never been a really big thing. Although once our youth group had a lock in on New Year's Eve at our church. That night we went downtown to watch the fireworks. We drove by a bunch of fights under bridges along the city. Saw a drunk girl lean out of a limo and puke her drunk guts out. Oh yes, good times.

hey AmbiePam, thanks for responding, I get the feeling you feel the same way as I do. So many young people celebrate a little to much and wont remember how they celebrated, it is a new year, we change the numbers we write, use a new calender and fill in the same old things...like working scheduel, birthdays, appointments..etc. I have always wondered what is it we celebrate in the first place, one year past, a new just begin...what is it to celebrate other then it is a chance to keep a day with the closes friend and family.

New Year at our house is a time when family members can get together again. Our son and his wife will come over and we will have snacks and play games. Some on the Wii and some card games but at Midnight we will wish each other a successful new year.

Hey Lovebirds90, sounds you have a day full of doings. I hope you have a very nice new years eve 2009. I am going to stay home and just take the day as it comes. The partying will be done in the weekend after, as my sister will be 30 years old then.

I used to spend New Years Eve with a close friend, and we would just hang out have our own little silly party play around online and watch movies, listen to music, etc. But since I moved far away a few years ago, I really don't do anything out of the ordinary. Last year I watched the Disney Channel all night, because they were having some kind of marathon of shows or something and then at midnight a countdown, this year I will either watch Disney Channel again or just watch Twilight and do my normal online things, I usually stay up all night anyway, so staying up for New Years really isn't really a change from my usual routine. Since moving I really just have my online friends, so I will probably be spending time with them in Second Life, a virtual world game.
The main thing I never look forward to is, every new years I cry when the year changes. I have done that for so long, it's almost automatic. New Years is actually a really depressing time for me, I feel like, great--another year slipping away.

New years eve, looking at the words, what does it say. What is it we are celebrating really, you say it is a depressing time, another year just slipped away and you are so right. I kind of feel the same thing. Normaly I work this day, but this year I have the day of. So what do you do a day like that when you normaly do something the hole day, and suddenly you are staying home. Mostly when I was a kid, we stayed home had family over, however nowdays, me and my sisters who share the same profession as assitance nurses...I work the day after this year, so I cant do much, cant stay up late and celebrate to much as I have to be up early. Anyway, I still do whish you a happy new year, hopefully some new great things will accure. At least we can hope for it.

On the new years eve , I think I will bring a lot of my close friends to my house where is the most warm place . Happy new year, my friend.
