Hey everyone, How frequently do you wash your hands? I think most people do before they eat of after they use a washroom, but do you after touching a door handle or any germy surface. I do, is that kind of overdoing it?

With all the flus and different germs out there today, there is probably no such thing as overdoing it. I wash my hands a lot also. When I am in a public toilet, I use Purell instead of going to the sink if I am alone. I am handicapped and going to the sink is a struggle. If there is someone in there that I don't know, I go to the sink as I don't want them to think I didn't wash my hands.

I always wash my hands before I eat or when I go into the washroom. Also if I put out the trash or any dirty jobs, I think it is very important as germs can spread around so easily. When I have used the washrooms in our local supermarket, I was quite annoyed to see a man in there walking straight out without washing his hands. This store carries food and if he was going to be handling this, he could quite easily pass on germs to other people who handle the same food as him. What amazes me is that this has not only happened once, but on several occasions when I have needed to use the washroom. - Derek

Well, i will definitely wash my hands before and after eating, as well as after using the washroom.. It's part of personal hygiene, and so it's important for to, as well as others.. haha =D Other than that, i wont be washing my hands if i were to touch anything else, for i dun see the need, and it's like kinda over reacting to things.. hehe ^_^ PLus, it's unavoidable to be in contact with door handles, seats, poles, and we cant be expecting washrooms, everywhere we go right?? hehe

I wash my hands all the time! I know germs are everywhere! I don't think that's overdoing it at all! It good to know and after i wash my hands I will use hand sanitizer as well. I found this great smelling hand sanitizer at a dollar store and it has aloe vera too! So my answer is all the time!

You're not overdoing it at all, because its natural that you wash your hands when you feel that you touch something dirty and its better to be safe all the time.

As far as I am concerned, I think I will usually wash my hands as often as possible. Before I eat my food I will wash my hands. After eating the food, I still wash my hands. Wahsing hands will help us make a more strong body. There are many other aspects that we need to wash our hands. Happy mylot.

i do wash hands as frequently as possible.since we can't chance with our health and germs being invisible to our eyes normally,i prefer to wash hands frequently with good soap or hand wash solutions.yeah, i do put moisturisers after each wash to keep my hands hydrated specially in winters.wash hands and stay safe.

I don't think you are overdoing washing your hands after touching a dopor handle or any "germy" surface - you just can't be too careful these days. I always wash my hands before I eat or after using the washroom, but I also wash my hands when I have finished on the computer, because keyboards are known to harbor lots of germs - even our own! It's a well known fact that the simple act of washing our hands often throughout the day, prevents us from picking up germs that could make us sick. Go for it!

I always wash my hands before I take my food. I even wash my hands, even where I will not be using my hands, and will be using only the cutlery. Of course I always wash my hands with liquid soap, after using the washroom. Regarding germy surface, I do not know, what is the germy surface which you are asking. But no I do not wash after touching a door handle, it thing it is a case of really overdoing things.

No, you are not overdoing it at all. With all the flu and illnesses running rampant right now I don't think you can be careful enough today. I carry around some Purell with me, and when I come home from the store I wash my hands immediately. Whether it will work or not, I won't know until summer shows up, haha. But I'm not taking any chances at all with those yukky germs.

I wash my hands more often now that I have a job that demands it. It's only sanitary. I am supposed to wash my hands every time I take off gloves before putting a new pair on. lol. I'm an In Home Aide.

Of course, I always wash hands before eating. Did your parents never taught you that? After returning from the office, I always wash my hands, because we do not remember, we hold any object out there. My wife is always complaining about coming home from my office did not wash my hands, because I'm always hugging and holding my little girl. From there, I always wash my hands before and after meals. Health is in your "hand", is not it?

Not enough! I wish I did it more often and maybe I would save myself a few colds! I just never remember to do it except after using the restroom or if I know my hands are dirty from something I've done. I do however try to use a disinfectant spray or wipe on door knobs and handles and other frequently touched surfaces. I say the more you do it, the better! As long as your hands are raw from excessive rubbing or your soap, what's the harm?
